A Book About TES

Post » Fri Mar 07, 2014 10:08 pm

Hi guys,

So some clever individual seems to have taken what we do here and put it into a http://www.amazon.com/dp/0988930528/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_asp_ctA4H.033TYYD. I like the idea that there's a book of comparative theology in TES, and I feel like a good deal of the people who frequent this part of the forum would like that idea too.

It looks interesting, though I wouldn't pay 20 bucks for it.

I would disagree with you and say something along the lines of, "well, if it adds different comparative perspectives on the lore and theology of Tamriel and brings new and wonderful ideas and implications of the metaphysical aspects of TES and the correlations those aspects have to modern gaming and storytelling, then I would pay maybe $10 for it" However, that's what this place is for and I happily lurk it for free.

Though, on a related note: I'd like to see DK do a cross-section book of different things in TES like they did with Star Wars (and while I'm at it, for Halo and all the neat Forerunner stuff.) It would have detailed cross-sectional illustrations of everything from the magelight lamps we see in the College of Winterhold, Dwemer robots, the Eye of Magnus, Numidium, and even the structure of The Wheel. Then we get to read in just enough detail on their guts work. Actually, as I'm typing this, I think this would be a fantastic endeavor for this forum to undertake!

Edit: Sending this from my phone and I accidentally hit submit after "dwemer robot."

As a Religious Studies major and long time TES fan, I am both interested and worried

As I said in TIL, the first one of us to read it has to provide a review for the rest of us. :P
