STILL cannot login to Elderscrollsonline, anyone help?

Post » Sat Mar 08, 2014 1:09 am

As thousands of people posted last Beta, they cannot directly log into Edlerscrollsonline.com because of some strange error with many major ISPs in the US(Time Warner Cable is one).

So even now they still have not figured out how to fix this but you cannot bug report it again as their forums are down. I did manage last beta to create an account using TOR browser which proxied me from Germany(I then had to translate account creation screen since their login server auto-detected place of origin lol) but that is all a bit sketchy.

Anyone know of a way to fix this problem aside from my sketchy workaround or chaning ISPs?

You can't log in to the forums or you can't log in to your TESO/site account? (The other posters are assuming the former, but it sounds like the latter to me.)

If you are talking your eso account, I had some malware piggy back in somewhere, and attached to my Internet explorer. When it did I could not even go to my account page, it would just loop back to the login. It was only Eso pages that was affected by it.

When I tried with FoxFire it worked fine. I cleaned my system completely and even Internet explorer works again.

Pretty sure this is a trolling attempt people.. Understandable since there's really nothing to do until the launch of the game.. I'm not even excited about there being another beta.

When I say cleaned my system, I don't mess around. I formatted my hard drives and reloaded everything.

Why don't we just assume he needs help with something until proven otherwise? =)

Exactly, my actual TESO account, not the separate forums account. I bought the Imp edition and wanted to input it into the code.

Just reinstalled a new OS about a week before Beta. Actually downloaded Firefox after my login attempts failed with Chrome just in hopes that it would work but it did not. Had never even used IE until I tried this.

My account login is separate from my beta forums username/password. You'd probably tried that right?

Have you tried from another computer?

If you can then it is still in your system. Depending on your OS, your setting may be saved in the cloud and then it just reloads your settings, and the malware is back.

Yes, the problem had affected a lot of people. Those affected(based on posts people figured out certain ISP's are affected and it is on ESO's end) who go to https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/ and click on account creation or enter their login credentials will only see the page refresh unpon submitting. It has to do with the ISP as if I use a TOR browser(which creates a proxie somewhere in EU) I can log in fine.

Part of my frustration is ESO shooting themselves in the foot ignoring this problem as they have.

Yes I have. As I pointed out before the TOR browser I can download and gain access because it lies to the server where my connection is coming from. My ISP Time Warner(Southern California) confirmed on their end (after getting bumped up a bunch of levels) that they too had the same issue and assured me it was on TESO's end. (course I only trust them so much). But while viewing the Beta forums there were tons of complaints and this and last I saw at least 5 + pages before I thought to try the TOR browser.

Thanks Ithril and Nazareth1 for taking the time to help btw, much appreciated.

You've tried deleting your cache and cookies, yes? Have you tried disabling toolbars like yahoo or others? If you use a program to block cookies like ad subtract or cookie crusher or something try turning that off..if you have macafee make sure it is set to accept cookies, yes?

Yes, tried all that first thing. I turned off APB(ad plus blocker I think is the Acronym) along with BitDefender and rebooted back when I was having the problem as I always assume it is on my end. I did however back on the 28th mail in a complaint and got a standardized reply where they sort of suggested it was on their end but did not go into details:

I replied to this and got an exact duplicate of this as the 2nd reply hehe. Well hopefully they are working on it, in the meantime if you all see anyone else complain just suggest using the TOR browser like I did or use cell phone or neighbors ISP to log into the account.

I have it allowed to set cookies, a red X shows up if something was blocked and none were. I even tried disabling firewall, setting browser to allow 3rd part and everything then went there but that did not work. I used the TOR browser and just entered my beta code so I really should not have to deal with the account management anymore. I just feel bad for all the others who missed their long-awaited Beta weekend along with those who will not be able to create an account come April.

Thanks for the help, I guess we just hope they are on the problem.

LOL yea, I got it once and then replied to it, they replied back with that exact message copy/pasted probably by some intern. I think their support staff was/is just not in place yet, but I am sure it will be come April.
