Intimidation and Persuasion skills.

I have not got past lv 15 with any character so I was wondering how good idea is it to put points into intimidation and persuasion? So far I have only found one quest that even gives you the option to use those skills. Are the two skill points worth it later on?

I have encountered two quests so far (one in my PvE zone and one in Cyrodiil) that presented me with options for using the Intimidation or Persuade skills. In both cases, alternative options such as paying gold or performing a task accompanied the faster or cheaper Intimidate/Persuade option. Considering these are the very first Passive skills for the Fighters and Mages Guild, I suspect there will be many more opportunities to use them. I don't know if the quests will continue to offer alternatives, though. My guess is Yes otherwise some players would not be able to complete those quests.

the kinda theif place in AD's second island has one you can do both, a main quest one leads you to need a guards sword and that gives the option for it too, so they are all over the place i guessing

The Spindleclutch dungeon gives you the option to persuade a certain NPC to assist you with a buff. Intimidating a wandering merchant was also an option in the Stonefalls area.

So far I've only noticed that you either persuade/intimidate or you bribe them. The end result has always been the same and I personally think these skills are completely worthless. It'll be the very last thing I spend my skill points into.
Edit: If the persuade/intimidate would make it possible to pick up a quest, or lead me to get a specific item, then it's a different story. But so far I haven't noticed any of that.

I took intimidate, and only used it for one quest. I don't think I would use it in the live game.

The problem with skills like that, is that if you cannot accomplish something without them, then they become viewed as required most often, and thus become a 'tax' in these games. If they make them able to be bypassed, even at the cost of a hefty bribe, then they become unnecessary and therefore are not put pts into most times. If they can be bypassed by doing an extra quest, then they become worse than unnecessary, they become a waste, because more quests = more xp, and more rewards. Why would I ever put a finite resource into bypassing more xp and rewards??

So, skills like that are never good to see in games.

I've encountered a few for sure which needed it, maybe 3-4 quest lines. Having one point in there is a good call in my opinion!

I have come across alot of wandering and hidden NPS. You can intimade them and they give you gear, I have even gotten blue items. The NPCs effected by these skills do not have markers on them so you need to try to talk to everyone you see. These 2 skill points for these skills seem well worth the minimal investment

Unless they were linked to NPC shop prices, then I'd certainly seem them as something some people might pick up, where others wouldn't.

I would only pick it if they allowed access to a quest or items that would otherwise not be available. To bad they didn't include something along the lines of skill/ability checks ala Fallout. If you don't have enough magicka or stamina and/ have enough skill in a particular weapon or spell casting then you couldn't advance in teh Mages Guild or the Fighters guild like Morrowind had.
