Savos Aren and Kodlak Whitemane

Post » Sat Mar 08, 2014 9:43 am

I personally felt no sadness or regret when either of these lads were killed, I didn't feel as if there was enough bond between the player and the NPC for there to be any though I feel like there should have been...whereas if Brynjolf was killed, I'd be pretty upset haha. Anyone else feeling like there's a distance between the player and npcs were there should be a closer relationship?

I couldn've really cared less about Savos. Kodlak on the other hand I felt a stronger bond

Spoiler

It makes sense to me; no one forms a close bond with everyone they meet throughout their life, so it's sensible really that you don't wholeheartedly mourn every NPC that dies.

I could care less for any guild leader that died... other then Kodlak. He and my characters always bond.

Yes.

Didn't feel a single thing for any of the faction leaders aside from Astrid and Brynjolf; a mix of pity and disgust for both of them.

Not to mention I barely had any kind of conversations with Savos. As a thief I'm only in the TG for myself so I don't care about anyone but me. As far as Astrid goes,

Spoiler
she ends up conspiring with the enemy, basically using you
. Isran to me only really gives orders. Kodlack is the only one you get in deep conversations with.

It's difficult to feel a bond with poorly written characters a part of a rushed questline with zero use of proper pacing.

Isran is the koolest guy in skyrim imo. Hes sort of like that redguard from oblivion in the bloodworks ... Tough on u and teases u at first, but as u prove ur worth he starts to open up to u. They are exactly alike now that i think of it. The same with that redguard from the dark brotherhood, nazir.

I never said I mourn over every victim of a dragon attack or the death of lokir...but you spend a significant amount of time (well would if the quests were longer) with Savos and Kodlack, but I felt no grief at their deaths. Hell, the only time I've truly felt bad was when I kicked Balgruuf off the throne

But you don't spend a significant amount of time with any of the guild leaders; they're like the headmaster of a school, you know they're actually in charge ... but in reality they have little contact with you and it's their representatives that you see more often.

Hmm, you report to Savos Aren often, and people in the Companions even comment on how K
