Quests You've Made Up

I know some of you don't do in-game quests and just make up your own, I'm wondering how do you usually go about this and what are some of your favourite quests you've made up?

I had a warrior once who hated all magical items who offered up Lich Dust as a sacrifice to his god by burning the dust. It was of one of his life goals :D

My Fitzie character got her start in Cyrodiil by killing Raelynn the Gravefinder in Moss Rock Cavern. She started at Roxey Inn with the quest there, but the roleplayed version of the story was that Fitzie had been tracking down Raelynn all the way from High Rock, and the innkeeper (questgiver) was actually just giving Fitzie a tip on where to find her.

My story was that Raelynn was Fitzie's aunt, and that she had murdered Fitzie's parents and made off with the family fortune.

Thus I managed to take a simple "Go there and kill that person" quest, and turn it into a piece of my character's back-story. I made it personal.

I think the key to imaginative "questing" is to allow the game to fit into it. Most of Oblivion's actual quest-stories are pretty ambiguous, allowing you to weave your own story into them. That works better than "fighting" against the game.

Hey, Impy! Nice to see you here again :)

As for homemade quests, I guess Lothran has had a few. One of the more notable ones is the quest to collect one shield from every town, including the kind the guards in the Imperial City and the guards on patrol around Cyrodiil use. Another quest is to regularly clear out Plundered Mine to ensure safe passage on the nearby road and patrolling Bruma in the town′s official armor.

Sometimes there can be minor quests too I guess, but the ones mentioned are the bigger ones. I guess one minor quest is to leave all the remaining Nirnroots alone... :P
