Are they doing lifetime subs?

Post » Sun Mar 09, 2014 2:27 pm

I read all the questions people asked him nobody asked about a lifetime sub.... did they ever say if they are planning to do one or not?

Can anyone who works for the press ask them when they get the chance? I`m sure i`m not the only one that wants to know...

A dev said in the beta forums that they are going to discuss the possibility of lifetime subs closer to release.

I do want it because I don't want to deal with the fluctuations on the exchange rate every month. I don't care for the price, it is something that I would save money for months to be able to get it if I had to.

.....and then the games crashes and burns on release and the devs pull the plug after a year or so. Brave man wanting a life sub on a game not yet released

Lifetime sub sounds dangerous to me. I'd rather pay each month if I was still satisfied with the game, feeling like paying another month was worth the money, than pay a hefty sum and perhaps 3-6-12 months down the line regret it.

Life is about taking risks.
And "a year or so" would be enough to justify the purchase, for me. It is not about saving a lot of money in the long run, it is about stupid fluctuations on the exchange rate.

Well.... today i went out payed for me, gf and her parents... it was about 120Eur... for a few hours out. A lifetime sub can give me a lot more and it will be at maximum 3 times as much... its not a bad deal for me.

No game was closed in a year... maybe in 3 sure, but no AAA game that i know of was closed in under 3 years. And even if its 2, its fine.

Not that many people buy the lifetime sub anyway... this is the first one i`d buy if they have one because why not.

I'd pay a lifetime sub in a heartbeat if given the chance.

He is saying its his life and his money so you know... he can do what he wants.

If they have one i`d guess 300$... hopefully that won`t translate to 300Eur(416$) for the EU/NZ players... hear me ZENIMAX?

Games are about taking risks. I remember one time in Skyrim I took a risk and attacked a mud crab, horrible creatures, it gave me bonebreak fever but its ok, the risk was worth it because the Talos shrine cured me like 20 minutes later. So sure I'd risk a years subscription if it was an option. I mean really I beat bonebreak fever and all. :D

Life time subs can't be cost effective though can they?
I would rather ZOS have a more regular income than a one off payment and that be it.

I would pay in the area of 200-250€ for a lifetime subscription.

I'd love to see a lifetime subscription option.

No way in hell I would pay for a lifetime sub for this game in such a volatile market. It could flop in less than a year and go F2P and you would be totally boned. No thanks.

Its comes with a month. If I am still playing it after that month it must be good.

No, it is life. I am not taking a risk in the game by buying the lifetime sub. I would be taking a risk in the game by, say, attacking a monster that I am not sure I can kill. By buying a lifetime sub I am spending real money for something that may be delivered for me for a couple of months or for many years. Spending real money on something uncertain is taking a risk, and it is part of life, even if the thing you are spending your real money on is a game.

Many games come with this after a year. So you'll be paying 12 month's subs and a lifetime after that.

that would dumb pay for a year and have troubles with it or pay a lifetime up front so you never have to worry about it again.

I'd certainly go for a lifetime option. You end up saving in the long run and Zenimax get larger returns faster. Win win.
