Replacement for SkyRe?

Post » Mon Mar 10, 2014 3:38 am

So, I have been using SkyRe since day one, I think I played Skyrim Vanilla for about 20 minutes. I find most of the changes it makes to everything to be quite awesome, however, SkyRe has always been associated with crashes. For most of the time I have been able to reduce the crashes to a very low amount [maybe once or twice per 4 hour game session]. But, even with a completely clean install, everything updated and compatible and stuff. It is just getting to be too much and after about 10 hours in on any character the crashes just start occurring left and right. I believe ultimately SkyRe is what is at fault. As much as I hate to remove it, I think it is time.

So, my question is, is there a decent replacement for it? If not, is there perhaps something obvious I am missing in my install? Are there any mods that I should just obviously not have? Maybe some compatibility patches I do not have?

Latest Papyrus Log:

http://pastebin.com/3guWnJAP

I have done all of the patchers in the proper order, I disabled what needed to be disabled with the reproccer.

I would really prefer not to switch, since I like the integration some mods have with SkyRE, but crashes svck.

Edit: as a last effort, I redid everything [patchers, bashed aptch, starting new game] without ASIS. Crashes almost always include things about spawners and/or the use of spells. Which ASIS messes with, and I remember way back in the day asis was a bit crashy for me.

I don't believe it's SkyRe cause I use it along with few other heavily scripted mods and can play several days for several hours (up to like 4 hours sometimes) without seeing more than 3-4 crashes in a week.

I used Skyre and I had one crash approximately every 25 hours, so definitely, it's not his fault. Check one of the mods in your load order

My favorite SkyRe replacement is http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24377/?. It's leaner and smaller but I think it's every bit as good. Besides being a standard combat overhaul it's also one of the best perk overhaul mods around. I think the mod really shines if you plan to play a thief or mage, as many of its perks benefit unarmored characters. It adds an Inventing skill tree that allows one to make traps, bombs and other handy devices. I think it's well worth checking out.

PerMa is the official SkyRe successor which is in development. It'll be a lot less bloated and only focus on perks/leveling and combat.
