So I saw a great deal online to pre-order The Elder Scrolls Online for 20% off, so I jumped on it and bought the standard edition.
After registering the key, I realized it was for 3-day head start, not a 5-day head start. I should have read the web site better, but that was my bad.
But I had a thought. They've said you can upgrade your standard to Imperial editions if you wanted to. So I go to the ESO store and I click on Imperial Edition and see this:
YOU ALREADY OWN THIS PRODUCT
So it won't let me purchase it nor is there an option to upgrade.
So I check out the Support page for TESO and find this:
"If players have pre-purchased through our official The Elder Scrolls Online Storeand would like to upgrade to the Imperial Edition, we are planning on having an easy-to-use upgrade service available at launch. For further queries on this, please contact our dedicated Customer Support team."
So 1st off, upgrading will only be available at launch. So that makes it impossible for people during head start to upgrade or before, in order to start the 2 extra days earlier.
Also, only people that have pre-purchased through TESO store will be able to upgrade to Imperial Edition. Does this mean, since I pre-purchased through another site, that I will never have the option to upgrade?
This is confusing and part of it irks me a bit, because this should be an easy option available to anyone well before launch. Silly enough them charging $20 for a race, but now if you don't pre-order from TESO store, you lose out on 2 days of head start.
It's stupid and makes me question why I spent money on the game in the first place.
