Will there be a in-game shop to buy gold with real money ?

Post » Mon Mar 10, 2014 10:31 am

Please no, don't do this Bethesda.

This will turn in a Pay-To-Win. And I wish to be rewarded with the time I spend in the game, not the cash I will have to spend. Also, I don't wanna see anybody becomes better than me just because he spent all his pay in the game...

That will ruin it all and I will quit.

I don't think any mmo does this do they? I'm part of SWTOR right now and credit spammers are a big issue. People will always do this themselves because other people are willing to use real money to buy game money. But I don't its sanctioned by any mmo

SWTOR is f2p. But it doesn't sanction it. The people that do it, do it illegally

GW2 does it.

You use real money to buy gems (the cash shop currency) and you can use gems to buy the stuff that is for sale in the cash shop or use it to buy in game gold if you want to.

However, you can also use in game gold to buy gems, so turns out that everything in the cash shop can be bought with gold instead of cash.

I don't wanna see any in-game shop that you pay Real Money for virtual in-game Money. (Golds)

Well ... no..

But then again... ZOS marketing team is notorious for not caring about anything but $$, so who knows, it will probably start more with buying ingame goods through the shop, with subtle things like that.

Who knows, probably it will never happen, or maybe their marketing team will ruin it by making the first subscription "f2p" mmo in the world lol, either are possible after what they've done so far.

If by that you mean mounts and pets available in a cash shop, it's pretty normal for sub MMOs and nothing related to horrid f2p crapness.

Illegally is a thing.. Bethesda/Zenimax will have to do their best to ban/stop these people from doing it.

But if the main company is putting this in the game, that will be greedy and I will hate it. I put 80$ + 15$/month It's enough for me, I want to have Golds in the game because of playing, not from putting more and more real money.

If I see this at any time in the game, I'll just quit. I don't want that to happen.

With that mindset they can just release the game as is now, and keep introducing items, everything for real cash...

The idea of paying a sub is to have continuous updates and even vanity items, 0 cash shop items.

If you are referring to WoW, their items are basically a re-skin and you can't bring that to the table since not only do they provide charity with that money it's also a game set in stone that has a HUGE set player base that will hardly change, so their team could easily put raid gear for purchase and they'd still have people on it to surpass any MMO today.

I well only support this if that gold can be put into a sac and used as a melee weapon that does lvl 1 damage and send gold flying everywhere each hit

I am not for or against this I could care less other then if they don't implement some thing some one else will so why not have the money go back to the game deli pores instead of to the gold farming company's !!!

I dunno, quite a bit of uproar and stink when they added those vanity helmets. I think if they did raid gear that might break the camel's back.

I'm kinda neutral to it. I understand that some believe a Subscription MMO should mean zero cash shop items. But that's really a player made rule and not a rule the industry ever agreed to. If people love ESO, they could do the same thing I don't think they would see much backlash. Granted, I'm speaking strictly on vanity and trivial items not pay to win items, namely gear. Though some claim that Instant level capped toons are a Pay 2 Win feature, I disagree but now we're getting off topic a bit

i could see it if they ever decide to add player housing, for items in your home ( vanity) but not for gold or armor, things you should be out in the world of eso working to acheive

Bethesda wouldn’t make such a controversial decision, at least not without being more insidious about it. A bad sign for example would be offering random “loot packs” with chances for some sort of extra rare goodie such as a unique mount. These are the sort of shenanigans everyone can expect if the game goes free to play though.

Every sub game before WoW didn't have a cash shop, not even for vanity items. It's a cash grab, but I guess that's what haPpens when developers care more about money than a quality product and people still purchase the garbage.
