NMM Crash On Load

Post » Mon Mar 10, 2014 4:58 am

Hey,

I know that Nexus has its own forum for problems for issues with the NMM but the site either dont want to work and if it does no one ever responds,

If I can I would like to ask you guys for help :)

The problem is that the NMM is crashing on load (not Skyrim I can still start and play the game its self).

I did have this problem a few months ago and I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling and this worked fine untill the other day.

If I can avoid it I dont want to do it that way because it will require me to spend so much time fixing the load order again and

with the number of mods I have it takes agies with having to look up their preferd location.

So any advice would be a help :)

Thanks, Loke.

Dont know if it will be any help but heres the https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6fK_pnqLMHIRW80MWdOSzV1Qkk/edit?usp=sharing just incase.

Uninstalling and reinstalling NMM doesn't modify at all your load order list. All your mods will be still there.

Uninstall NMM, say yes when asked to remove config files, then install the latest version. NMM will automatically detect the active and non-active mods, so you won't have any work to do.

You could have exported your load order to a text file as a backup and had your reinstall set with your old imported load order within minutes. Did you uninstall one of the games NMM was checking? Fallout New Vegas? Either reinstall the game in the old place, or uninstall and reinstall NMM. If you changed nothing it is a bug and the NMM thread would be the best place to report the problem.

Yes, you right it should not modify the load order but it will activate (as you say) non-active mods and thats part of the problem, I have a good few that will conflict or have optional parts that will conflict.

ahh Hind sight :)

I could have and I normaly have a copy of my load order but not a recent one.

No games were uninstaled, what may have caused it is updating or deleting a mod from the data folder and not via the NMM, normal the NMM dont mind this and just delets its own data entry list.

I agree the Nexus NMM Forum would be the best place but after looking at the responce level to bugs/issues in the NMM section I see no point.

ok thanks guys, guess its going to be a re-install anyways, I know its a bug as I have seen other threads about this, maybe I should reduce my load order as it seams to have only started happening

after 120+ mods have been installed.

uninstall and reinstall with the latest update. My NMM went weird for a while but was solved by doing this.

If your computer ever crashed with NMM open it can do this.
