Suggestion to make Heavy Armor up to par.

Post » Tue Mar 11, 2014 2:39 am

So I keep seeing people complain that Heavy Armor is not viable in PVP due to it not being on par with medium and light armor.

Was looking thru the passives for light/medium/and heavy and noticed that none have the ability to reduce the chance to be crit'ed.

Would adding or changing one of the passives to reduce the ability to be crit'ed by like 1% per piece of heavy make it more attractive. Maybe remove its spell resistance passive. So Heavy's will do better against medium armor users but not as well against light?

Please constructive criticism only.

Can you explain why not using heavy armor in PvP is a problem? Only real down side I can think of is that it requires tank types to use a second set of gear. Which I admit is an issue, but not one that 5-8% crit change reduction would address.

And why would you want to remove the spell resistance passive? It's kind of important for tanking...

I really think they should just adjust the soft cap based on what type of armour you're wearing. As they add more powerful equipment to the game later on, you'll be hitting the cap faster and faster. And they would have to keep adding extra features to heavy armour to compensate if it stays like it is now..

Also, the spell resistance is an important stat for survivability and useful in PvP (well, after you hit level 50). If I'd want to trade anything, it's the 1% extra damage passive. That's a bit meh.

Because spell resistance only reduces spell dmg and crit resistance reduces everything.

And I agree with adjusting the softcap higher making it only reachable by wearing primarily heavy armor or using buffs such as spiked armor in combination with some heavy.

Never used heavy armor in ESO so way is Heavy Armor is not viable in PVP?

Reducing crit chance however might not be a good idea as it's quite powerful bonus to have in PvP. But can't really say because I have no clue way heavy armor is considered bad.
