No Underwater Diving yet...

Realism and reality are 2 different things

As an example, having a world with foods and drinks is realism, having a world where you must eat on a regular basis or starve is reality (or reality-like)

This applies to everything in game. Realism is good, too much reality-like stuff can be annoying.

Okay, using that definition my stance is unchanged. Asking for no underwater swimming or no underwater combat is asking for too much annoying 'reality'.

Nope, that's realism.

Reality would be sinking in armor and tiring if standing in water, until you drown.

Underwater content could be fun, wonder if they could get the physics right for it? Slow attacks because of the density of the water. but in saying that argonians being amphibians would have a nice racial advantage, extra swim time from extra breath and better combat for them underwater then the rest of us.

Plenty of sea wrecks around the coast, and it would be nice to actually kill those damned slaughter fish.

But then certain classes would be limited. no spell casting because you cant cast spells, (if the mechanics suggest spells are cast using verbals) I cast my.... blub blub lubub bl bub bllb blire bluuub blbub ball

Could also be used for getting out of line of sight for people using range combat from the bank if they cant see you.

Loads of reasons why to have and very little why not.

I think its something that will take a lot of work, but I think it would ultimately be worth it if done properly and used well. I would like them to save it for an expansion down the road, once they've added a lot more of Tamriel and the daedric planes.

Gw2 underwater combat was added a month before launch and it showed, it was rubbish and a total frustration in a few zones,
Needing new weapons and a mask that you use 1% of the time made no sense! geting swamped by mobs when just trying a avoid/dodge the mobs in the first place! the zone with the dragon champ, all the Ausra packed into a small space as an example.

WoW is little better but atleast you kept your weapons/skills that your used to, underwater combat never feels right, in WoW fir example feels like a choir as your speed is cut in half can't mount ect.

I for one would love underwater diving/swimming, hidden treasure chests/cave entrances, etc but NO COMBAT under water.

Not only is it annoying (IE Guild WArs 2) but it looks flat out SILLY to be fighting underwater with a bow or a sword/axe.

Just let the undrewater be focused on exploration and just giving us the simply ability to dive under water.

Diving under water while you can swim to me is the equivalent of being able to "jump" while you are walking/running around in the world.

Now how many of you would hate to lose the simple ability to jump?

Is there a lot of "jumping" content? Do you have combat while jumping? Do you have vaulting over objects? Places you can only get by jumping to thm? Not really no.

" Master YODA disagrees with you"

Thats what i were saying when posted the thread, just diving, as a feature, for collecting herbs, chests, or even discovering hidden caves with treasures, Skyshards!!! That would add a Challenge timing based on Breath.

Now, lets give the haters more anger... You said about Jump, and Jump content, since Haters (waterphobics) are complaining about diving and underwater content, would you (haters) be glad if ZOS add "Jumping Puzzles"(GW2) in ESO ?

Talk about "Immersive" content!... Under water zones add such a huge element to MM gaming.... Many MMO's have had them from launch - so whoever made the statement saying that haven't doesn't know what they are talking about. I remember drowning in the East Freeport water tunnels in EQ.
