[GUILD] The Black Hand

Post » Tue Mar 11, 2014 10:45 am

The Black Hand, the official guild of blackhandgaming.org, will be stepping up its recruitment efforts in the coming months.

We plan to bring on-board gamers who feature personalities and skills compatible with our ambitious goals for Elder Scrolls Online.

The Black Hand features an excellent core of members who are driven to succeed, and our guild mission is to establish ourselves as a pillar of the ESO community.

If you are interested in The Black Hand, the first step you should take is to read our guild charter, which outlines our policies, expectations, and vision. We are currently seeking members who possess the following key traits:

* Enthusiasm for gaming, cultivating a community identity, and participating in a tight-knit group of dedicated gamers.

* Ability to contribute towards the growth of The Black Hand, and help in building a respected guild brand.

* Willingness to assume responsibility for tasks which further the goals of The Black Hand.

We have lofty expectations of our members, we are above all else a team and a group of friends.

While we will strive to progressively complete all ESO content available, we never forget that it is our members who make this possible.

We offer the opportunity for a rewarding guild experience in what will hopefully be the genre’s defining MMO for years to come.

If you think you are a good fit for The Black Hand, please consider submitting an application.

Understand we do not recruit any player under the age of 18 years old.

We are a mature guild.

Some exceptions may apply to friends/family. However these are rare.

Once you have submitted a application, please allow up to 7 business days for a standard reply.

You will receive a private interview request message on theblackhandgaming.org. Took check your messages, simply go to your profile.

If you receive a interview request, respond as soon as possible. You will then agree upon a set time and date for a 15-25 minute verbal interview within our mumble server.

If accepted you will be placed on a 3 week trail period. If you pass the trial period, you are then considered a full member of The Black Hand.

If you are new to MMO’s please let us know in the application. This will not be held against you.

Such mixed feelings about this, sounds great, then the whole interview and "trail" period. Throws you, makes you wanna slap someone, but really. We've all been in that guild that would of been awesome if it wasn't for the few tards. Maybe the screening process is a good thing. lol

I've always found interviews and trials to work both ways :) They interview me, the same time I interview them......Good for weeding out the members you don't want, and good for making sure you don't run with a self proclaimed leader who is a moron :)

Unfortunately, The Black Hand is not a player guild in my eyes.....It's established TES lore so it wont be for me. Best of luck!!

I love this guild! We always have members in Mumble (at one time we had 35 members), always have something to talk about. Our Forums are full of information for anyone. We plan to work as a team to achieve everything we plan to do. We have members from all of walks of life! We play as a 1 when we are in beta and accomplish what we strive to do. Our wonderful leader comes from a extensive gaming background who loves his members. A lot of time we are just sharing YouTube video's and simon's cat. We do not tell you what class to play, how to play. We want you to show us whatever your doing is working and you are rocking at it! I really do mean I LOVE THIS GUILD!

Your guild name is rude. It should be "The African-American Hand".

RPers are going to rage if you name your guild after the upper-echelons of a guild that is such an integral part of TES lore...

Yea, seems like a bad name for a 'We take anyone and dont tell you how to play' type guild as the name implies the very elite of assassins.

Honestly, if I were Zenimax I would ban that name for a guild so there is no confusion.

Personally I have had the pleasure of actually meeting and getting to know members of The Black Hand and found them to be honorable and great people, each and every one. I'm proud to call them friends and in this day and age that is a rare thing. <3

Greetings everyone! I can't believe the amount of just negative feedback for a guild you have never meet or even checked out. The Black Hand uses a in depth recruitment process. We ask all potential members submit a application. We then request a interview. Upon being admitted into the guild there is also a 3 week trail. All these steps are to protect our members. It also allows us to select those members who will best fit our close knit group. We have clear goals we'd like to meet. Not everyone may be willing to dedicate that. We are family, friends, and a team. Therefore we take the utmost care in who we select. Many progressive guilds use this process. It simply weeds out all the bad eggs or in this case wards off those who have no intention of staying, making a commitment, or lack dedication for a cause. So the process is already working.

As for the guild theme "The Black Hand". It was selected by the guild members. It's a theme only. We like it very much! We understand the guild is named after a aspect of Elder Scrolls Lore. However let's all be honest. There will be 1001 other guilds doing the same. Other than the poor feedback featured here. We normally get nothing but positive remarks on our process and guild name/theme. We are also one of the largest, most active, and featured guilds for ESO.

As I stated we use this process for this reason. To ward off those who lack dedication, commitment, or who would cause problems. We also have strict guidelines against trolling, spamming, flaming, harassment, and general immaturity. So the process is working already. We encourage constructive feedback. However we have no intention in changing our guild policies or it's name/theme. Ton's of things are named "The Black Hand" (a band, a WW1 group, a biker gang, and more). No one is breaking a copyright. As a matter of fact. We have already purchased copyrights to our website completely. We meet all legal requirements set forth by Zenimax and gamesas.

I hope all those interested will not write us off so easily. We look forwards to meeting you and playing with you!

Thankfully Zenimax and gamesas do not share these views. Players are aloud to create a guild of any name the see fit. So long as it meets guide lines. I have already seen a guild name "The Mages Guild". Some players have different tastes. That's the beauty of people. We are all different. What you may not like, another may find very enjoyable. Thankfully Zenimax/gamesas understands this.

It is nothing personal and it actually sounds like a fun group to play with but you name yourselves basically 'The Best Assassins' and then are friendly and have no requirements for skill.

Think of a guild named 'Guardians of Peace' and then be the worst PK and griefing group in the game, on top of this said 'Guardians of Peace' was an integral part of a game's storyline which promoted good will and community. See my point? But I won't bash you at all, just seems like stealing an RP theme then not even trying to follow it.

I'm sorry you don't like our guild name of choice. Thankfully Zenimax lets players make the choice for themselves. We have been in the PTS with this name for well over a year. If Zenimax had issues, they would have notified us.

As for your other comment. We don't tell people how to play. We understand people have different play styles. We do our best to work with every players style. We are a progression guild. However we have more casual groups. We are however not "hardcoe"> I really hate these labels.

I believe you assumed we had no skill requirements. We screen our members and recruits in depth. We look at prior experience, knowledge, and accomplishments. Things all progression guilds require. However at the same time we understand there are new players and casual player. We refuse to limit players due to lack of experience or "skill". When both of which we can help them with. We also understand not everyone can comment a mass amount of time to gaming. Therefore we have more casual based groups. I am sorry this concerns you.

As for the name, the RP players will just have to cry. I have 150+ members who find it never awesome. I have 6,000 views a day on a website that also states otherwise. I think we are doing just fine. However thank you for your concern.

6,000 views on your website because players are looking for Elder Scrolls lore lol. Sort of like naming your guild Google then claiming you are getting a ton of hits.

Once again you assume. It's also very clear your here trolling now. So the comments have been reported as such. I am sorry you are concerned about the affairs of the guild community you know nothing about and are not a part of. However we get our website views. Simply put I'll take them. It's served us well. Our guild name will stay the same. Our members chose it together and it stands. Zenimax seems to like us enough to invite us to PTS and keep us around. I guess we'll just deal with some qq from outsiders lol.

I personally think ZOS should have restrictions on player guild names, but then I'm not going to join any kind of impostor guilds.

Wow, so pointing out your guild stole copyrighted material as it pertains to Elder Scrolls lore is trolling? No it is not. I wish you guys the best of luck but I would not be surprised if Zenimax forces a name change on your group later.

Falsely reporting players for trolling who are simply pointing out a real game concern then harassing them by saying they are QQ'ing goes against your guild theme of 'mature' playerbase.

Just a few pieces of friendly advice.

First of all, it takes you almost a week and a half to review an application? Then you say "message us for an interview as soon as possible." Arbitrary rules put in place to create the illusion that your time is more valuable than the applicant, that's always a great first impression.

Also, guilds that require an application, hilarity.

Likewise with the name, maybe if you spent the time you take to review applications on coming up with something original, I could see actually submitting an application for the hell of it. You're already expecting more effort from me than what you yourselves have invested. Not a good look.

Regardless, good luck, I guess.
