I'm sure there is a good reason for it but I wonder why it is we can't play across platform? I wouldn't think it is because of the impact of controller scheme or other general qualities. Is it chat vs voip? Inability to merge login management systems? Billing systems, something else?

I suppose if I want to play both on PC and PS4 because my friends are all over I have to buy the game twice but do I have to pay for two different subs?

It is in fact because of controller vs keyboard. They tried this back with Shadowrun and the console players were slaughters. It might work with a game that wasn't real time combat but ESO has real time combat. It's the same reason you can't put console players up against PC players in Battlefield or CoD, they will get slaughtered.

WHat I would like to see is the ability for console players to play on PC servers provided they have a keyboard and mouse and if I recall PS3 and XBox 360 both had keyboards you could buy so I assume PS4 and XBOX One would have one as well.

There is no cross platform because Microsoft policies dictate that they will not cross platform with sony. ZOS instead of basically cutting Microsoft out, decided to just split the servers. The controls are loose enough that console players wouldn't be that effected.

This seems to be the answer to a lot of posts around here. Not sure what is going on in the community and I realize there is a lot of sensitivity if you're a very long time forum poster here but many people don't have that history. No this is not troll baiting.

I believe someone mentioned a while back (and I'll have to see if I can find it) that it has to do with Microsoft and Sony PSN being jerks about it. I know there have been similar issues in other games, for example DCUO, where because of the way billing and stuff has to be done, they couldn't put people on the same server even though they wanted to. Now I'm off to try and find those things that I said!

Lol im not a pc elitist i just poke fun now and then to rile folks up. I'm just not a console gamer cause I have this great pc and I've been an MMO gamer the past decade basically. and well The only console i've had these last 5 years was the Xbox for a few games here and there and PC for everything else.
