Can the hero live in Agarmir's house?

HI all - after the quest "Unfriendly Competition" and you kill off Agarmir, can you live in his house? I want a place in Imperial City without having to buy one. If I stash stuff in his house, will it remain undisturbed or will it disappear?

Thanks!

I don't think you can sleep in his bed, can you?

If you want an Imperial City house, you can use

Spoiler
Lorkmir's
house in the Elven Garden's district, if you don't mind a bit of a mess and a corpse in the basemant. You can sleep in his bed and there are several open sacks of grain that will never respawn. None of the open sacks of grain in the game ever respawn, so you are safe using any of them for storage. The only caveat being that at a certain point in the mages guild questline, the open sacks in the storage room on the main level of the Bruma guild may become inaccessible due to a scripted event. But every other open sack of grain in the game is totally safe storage.

I believe Turija is right. If I remember correctly the containers in Argarmir's house are all unsafe after this quest is completed. You can make them safe if you are on PC, but if you play on a console one of your best bets is to follow Turija's advice in his spoiler.

Yeah you can sleep in his bed. Before killing him in the mausoleum while he was asleep in his house, I pickpocketed him and stashed some things in a trunk in his bedroom while on the quest. After completion I went back (I think a day later) and they were still there. That's why I was wondering about long-term.

I did almost lose a whole crapload of stuff in the mage's guild in Cheydinhal. Before going on the recommendation quest to get the 150 lb ring from the well, I dumped all my stuff into the display case thing in the front entrance hallway. When I got back -- I went out to the well and immediately back in -- it was all gone. Luckily I saved just before I did that so got it all back. I have now used a chest in the bedroom area without any incident. Thought that was odd!

Thanks for the tip about the other house, Turija, I don't mind a mess and a corpse. Sounds kinda like my house now, actually. :D

I thought you got the "You cannot sleep in an owned bed" or the "You cannot sleep while trespassing" message if you tried to sleep in Agrimir's house, but it has been a long while since I tried that. Maybe I was mistaken about that. If you can sleep there, you can look around for open sacks of grain. Find any of those and you can use them for storage. Then it would make a decent house.

If you use the other house, just be careful about storing things in containers other then the open sacks. Most containers in the game respawn after three days in game of being out of the cell. The only containers in the other house I can vouch for as being safe are the open sacks of grain. There are two or three of them in the main floor.
