Has anyone have this guy actually "survive" the whole ordeal? I just beat the main quest recently for the second time and while this guy was following me, Alduin never came to devour him. In fact he went straight with me into the Hall of valor and back out to face Alduin. He was even helping the tongues and I fight Alduin by shooting arrows at him. Of course his dialogue never changed but hey at least he lives.... well you know what I mean.

I've tried to get him to the Hall of Valor, but he never follows me all the way. I try clearing the mist, but he just stands there.

You just got lucky, Alduin always uses Him as a snack in My playthroughs.

I wouldn't have known Alduin eats him if not for Youtube. He always just randomly stops, even if the mist is cleared miles around.

He never dies in any of my playthroughs, ever. At least not via Alduin.

He just stands there after a while saying something about it being useless.
