Interesting that it's seemed to take so long for modders to improve the meshes in this game (at least, that I've noticed). I'm certainly interested in this, and I'll hopefully try it for myself soon~

well, in IA has gone far beyond "fixing" things, really, he's upping the quality of the meshes ( and the facecount) by probably an average factor of four.
Which is cool, if you wants that, but it'll hit your GPU and VRAM accordingly - so there's a question there about what you want. If you're running lots of mods with custom meshes then MIP could push you over the edge. OTOH - if you want a more polished game with a smaller mod list, this is worth downloading.
Have you looked at the http://insanecreations.co.uk/mip/changelog.html?, There isn't enough done to start putting an over all percentage on the project.
Not all of MIP's changes will be/are new meshes, even then very few will have the polycount's increased enough to harm the FPS.
