Upgrading PC for ESO

Post » Thu Mar 13, 2014 5:22 am

So my Birthday is Friday :) happy me I get to beta test on my Birthday :D I also want to buy myself a birthday present so my PC is getting some love.

Here is what I have

i7 960 @3.2

8G ram

ATI Radeon HD 5700

1T HDD 5400RPM

This is on an ASUS Sabertooth x58 running windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I want to spend about $100 I am thinking about a 120G SSD to install windows (20G), ESO (60G) and maybe DDO(15G). That is 95G is 25G free space going to be enough for patches and whatnot?

Should Flash or DirectX or anything else be installed here as well or is that part of the 20G for windows?

I am looking at a Samsung 840 EVO but to be honest I don't know what stats I should be looking at.

At this point I am also not sure which is the biggest week point. I know my hard drive is slow. I double ESO recommended RAM but still a bit low by gamer standards and my video card is so outdated it doesn't even make any performance charts to see how it compares to other video cards. That said it is still newer than the models listed as recommended so I am thinking the SSD.

Thoughts? Opinions? Answers to my questions? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.
