Update, it was all working fine, but I am always curious so I did more tests..

Tried to repair my fully working EU client and when repair reached 100%, it download some small files and in the end gave me that manifest error again and removed news again.

News bugs seems to be only visual, wont affect the game. Anyway I mentioned how to fix news in the OP.

Will try few more things now.

Customer support just advised me turn off my firewall... thanks

I am in the UK & had the same problems already posted here and elsewhere. The client is selected at EU by default so this palaver took me by surprise. I am no tech head but what I did was to repair the client. This resulted in a complete re download and patch upon patch upon patch. It was already as up to date as I could make it. The client appears to be running ok but I cannot get access to the "news" and the launcher update is 1.3.5.911221. The files have changed auto to ESO EU. I did not alter anything by hand. I just let the client fix itself without rebooting the computer or altering files or anything teckie. Hope this info makes sense and helps similar peeps

That's what I thought yesterday.

Today logging in I get asked if I want to migrate to the EU and it creates a "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" folder.

It was incredibly messy, this is what I roughly had to do

I had the US version installed, today when I just tried it (didn't happen yesterday), the launcher first came up with some error message, think it was " Patchmanifest error"

Then it said words along the lines of "I see you are playing in the EU, the EU megaserver is up this weekend, would you like to migrate to this server"
]I selected whatever option was yes (apply/OK etc)

it spent about 30 seconds saying it was downloading, then all was done for me.

I then quit the launcher

Restarted it, and got an odd message saying it was downloading.

I selected the game options (just to the right of where it now says "The elder scrolls online EU" , clicked on "repair"

First time I got a PatchManifest error

Second time it went through fine checking all my files, took about 1 min on my machine.

]I then quit and relaunched the launcher

It was then fine

Yesterday I had a 29.9 GB "The Elder Scrolls Online" folder

Today I have a 29.9GB "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" folder

and a "The Elder Scrolls Online" folder and if I ricgh click on that and select properties, it tells me

Size: 21.9GB (not a misstype)
Size on disk: 299 MB

I have copied the "game" folder from TESO folder to TESO EU folder, ran a repair, and it seems everything's fine except the news.

This is going insane...

So, I've always played with NA folder. Should I rename that folder to EU or just follow the instructions from the launcher when asking me to change to EU? I see many people got the game broken because of this?

I changed it in the launcher and it went fine, downloaded a small patch and automatically renamed the folder. The only problem is that when I switch back to US server, it's trying to redownload the whole thing.

Wtf ? they send a message telling us we can play on the EU server and even give me the option to migrate my entire game to the EU server which i have done, now they are saying it's NA only? Please tell me i have misunderstood this.

Yea, I think its a mistake from customer support. We will be able to play on EU. So relax

i think i better stay on us-server for this last weekend...
