Is it ever possible to side with Harkon? I abhor Serana.

Perhaps I should not have brought up follower aspects by mentioning Lydia (although it brings up another complaint in this game besides choice meaning very little, followers are about as useful and interesting as a rock). But as an actual character she does have far more depth than most. I cannot understand where people get this idea she nags a lot and that she is "dull". If that's the case, I would love to know what they considering an interesting character in this game because there sure as [censored] aren't many.

I don't actually particularly like her looks (mainly because she always looks kind of glitchy in my game, I think - like there's something missing from the textures or something??) but I like her a lot, I tend to prefer the grumpy characters, though, my favourite follower is probably Jenassa, favourite wife is probably Anwen. Jordis and Mjoll are sweet and all, but I can only take so much sweetness and light before I start to get irritated. I also like the fact that she doesn't just stand stock still in the background like the other followers, not least because with AFT *all* my followers get those animations, which makes them seem a bit more like actual companions rather than slightly creepy soldiers who just stand to attention while I'm having a pint. I also like the fact that she refuses to marry the PC and how mad this makes a certain type of person *evil grin*

Right, and then LATER it doesn't matter what you said, you'll approach him to confront him as if you'd agreed with her.

There's your problem right there. :P

Don't think her critics are comparing her to characters in this game.

When you look at her from simply a follower aspect, her amount of random dialogue is on par with Mjoll and Teldryn as they also comment on a wide variety of places/things and she has repetitive dialogue when not around something that triggers a specific comment, the same as every follower. I don't consider her complaints about the weather to be "nagging" but I find it amusing how her constant complaints are somehow less tiresome to most then Mjoll telling the same story over and over.

I bring up Mjoll and Teldryn when discussing her as a follower because I view them all in the same light in regards to having more to say then most followers (and in turn more interesting followers then most) but she stands out as the most annoying of the 3 because of the constant reanimating of corpses. Even if she didn't cast that damn spell then I still would prefer other followers because her doing random things (which don't make much sense) doesn't make her more interesting imo.

It all boils down to opinions though.

I must be missing a joke because I'm not a fan of hers and I only compare to her to other followers in Skyrim...personally I think armored trolls are more interesting as followers because they're friggin trolls and don't annoy me like she does :P

Precisely. One of the most annoying things for me.

I like Serana, not enough that I want to marry her. (Nor did any of my characters feel that way in RP.)

She's one of those few npcs who actually give you that feeling that makes you connect to the character, digging in their stories. While most followers aren't like that at all aside from a few.

To answer the question, no, atleast not in vanilla. But I doubt there are mods for it too, sorry.

I deleted a bunch of off-topic posts.

You can like or dislike an NPC as your preferences dictate. But kindly stick to the topic and don't derail on nonsense stuff, like an obvious joking exaggeration when someone is saying I speak for everyone and so on.

As I've just mentioned, you actually can voice your support for Harkon and his plan, around the time you're headed for the Soul Cairn portal/ Return from the Soul Cairn.

You won't know if you don't talk to her.

That much is true, but think about what you're asking for. Would you really want to go through this stupid plan that would eradicate all life on Mundus?

You can?

I did talk to her. But I admit that it's been long ago that I played Skyrim because of issues with my ps3. So I probably forgot.
