They didn't. I picked up a two handed iron sword in coldharbour.
Yep, I too had only one single weapon choice, that being a 1H sword.
What I think he meant to say is yes - they've limited that room to swords only, but they've increased the weapon drop rate in that area - you should be able to get pretty much any other weapon type from the mobs in Coldharbour
I saw some staff drops... and daggers. But no bow's. Although this time I just wanted a 1h sword anyway.
Same here but there are so many chests around I was able to find a staff, bow, 2h hand sword, shield, and a heavy chest piece after about 15min searching. Most people probably don't waste time searching for loot in the starter area but if you do there is quite a bit of basic stuff you can collect.

Maybe I just got lucky. Found most of the stuff in the area where you have to dodge the spikes.
Yeah, it was this one. Maye I just got lucky but I found iron chest piece, a maple bow, one handed and two handed iron sword.
I ran the cold harbor again once again to see the differences. EVERY DIFFERNCE i can tell between the last few betas
1. you only find a 1 handed sword on the table. Looting every chest trunk vase pot etc i only found 2 destruction staffs, 2 maces, 1 2h sword. NO BOW, NO DAGGER. not that it really mattered thats just an intro area to get your feet wet.
2. You can only loot a chest once then it stays open it doesn't respawn like they used to. I can still loot crates vases pots chests trunks from 1st, 2nd, 3rd areas, but 4th area EVERY SINGLE pot vase chest trunk was open.. which is a shame because thats alot of loot people are missing out on. Mayhaps they need to work on the phasing a little better so people will have a little more loot and possible chances of a motiff leaving the cold harbor area like it used to be a few betas back.
3. it seemed to have had more lootable stuff it looks like, cheese, more bottles, fishing stuff from iron maidens, drinks from different factions i found Daggerfall beverages and AD.
4. They no longer have the snake thing when you encounter molag bol, its now 2 skeletons then molag bol talks some trash and its some kind of skeleton golem thing.
5. you no longer have to activate the 2 switches to escape the prison through the portal. The prophet just summons the skyshard and then it starts doing the great akitosh bla bla deny the will of molag bol bla bla /ground hog day speech we've all heard a gazillion times if you've made multiple alts.
6. you wind up in auridon(AD FACTION 2nd zone) and skip Kheniriths roost entirely of course you can talk to sugar paws to go back.
7. When you complete your quest you get a skill point, and a satchel with random gear i got med armor and a bow vs the soul shriven ring as before when making a Night Blade.
8. Any faction any race and imperials/ imperial horses from stable for 1g.
Its really nice how rewarding exploration feels so far.
Yea I'm not feeling it. There was nothing wrong with how the old Tutorial worked. Gave you the basics and let you start developing your character from the first room. Now I'm stuck with a 1 hand weapon or a 2 h Axe neither of which fits my character build. Just another change that makes no sense. People complain about inventory space so they give you 10 extra slots and allow you to pick up a gagilion items that you couldn't interact with before. There just is no thought process in any of this
