So i was frustrated by some nonsense error about me not having permission to create a file or folder after trying to change to EU after previous beta on NA server. Tried a few fixes and nothing worked, didnt have the time to play so just thought screw it i'll try a fresh install. Uninstalled via the launcher, deleted every file found etc and downloaded it fresh.

I came home yesterday and it was at 100%. Clicked play and low and behold it just starts downloading the whole thing again with no error or other prompt. I checked the folders and the only folder (other than launcher) located is the 'Elder Scrolls Online EU' folder, filled only with the 'depot' subolder -> 'patchdata.depot' -> various files of depot_-1to8.zo01 up to z12. Tried again today, deleted everything and downloaded it fresh and it's done the same thing. I'm now 'repairing it' i believe, by repairing it it basically means i'm downloading ~22000 mbs so hoping this may actually do something and not just spend hours downloading stuff that seems to go awol.

What the actual hell is wrong with this game?

I have exactly the same problem...

It patches the full game so I can play it, but when the launcher closes and I have to start it again it's just gonna download the full game again...

I aleady downloaded around 95GB today and I'm pretty tired of it now... does anyone know why the launcher does this? Is there a way to fix it?

It is pretty frustrating. It's not like i'm mistaking it for small downloads, i'm not given the size it says it is dowloading and the speed and time it takes, and its not like the downloaded stuff is going anywhere else, no search can find it (not that it should be given i directed it to the location i'm looking for it). I'm simply confused as it how it is downloading such information and .. basically.. there is nothing to show for it.

I've asked support twice now so lets see if anything can be helped before this event ends anyway.

It's an endless loop, it will never work. Maybe it's a Mac issue.

The developers couldn't care less, I've had no answers to my emails.

It's so ironic when you read all the nonsense on the website about how they really care!

Don't waste your time on this.

Same thing happened to me. Downloaded, clicked play, started to reinstall. So I hit repair...and basically spent about 6 hours waiting for the client to do its thing. Also experienced crash, failed launcher and the chargen is stuck on full body - no zoom to it. It's not very promising really, which is a shame because TESO looked so good.

Not even on a mac!

I'm waiting on a reply to my support ticket/email. Frankly i know how to delete all files, hidden or not, related to the game so i'm not sure what else can be done.

I'll try it again tomorrow in the morning, maybe i'll get lucky and it's just a random bug that happens and if i try for the 4th time i may not have it, who knows.

Ive given up...3 times tried now to play this game on the Eu client..downloaded, error when hit play..repair..same issue...error....if I switch to the USA client the game will play. EU client is totally borked...

I gave up after 4 "Failed to Manifest" errors and 2 D/L loops... No thanks.

Only suggestion is to open a ticket with support. I don't think anyone here has the answer.

They did not either. I'm not on the OMGDIEESO bandwagon.. It was just kinda bummer. I'll still get the game, but maybe not until the first few hot fix's go in after release. It's to unstable now.

The support has replied to me, pretty quickly frankly.

I had two replies. The 1st was a simple explanation of how to properly uninstall the game, and thus thinking it would be fine once reinstalled. This is nothing different than what i have already done really.

But I have now tried a complete clean up using every bit of software i posses and doing everything i can to rid my PC of every ESO file and have started the install again overnight, lets see if that works!.

The 2nd was a reply shortly after discussing launching the game immediately from the eso.exe to escape launcher issues.

As i said, i literally do not have any other folders or files located in the folder other than the depot one, there is no /game. So this isnt relevant to me, but may be to anybody else who finds themselves here

Well none of those first couple worked for me at all. I'm working on D/L number 7 atm.. I'll try the bottom part if that fails as well. I have support tickets in, but alas, no luck.
