First off I will say I have, in general, enjoyed the beta (other than bugs, crashes, etc....the norm) and have pre-orderd BUT...........
1) I think the Imperial race is a mistake and one that may ultimately make me move on. Why? Well it has nothing to do with what you might be thinking of like cash grab, better abilities, etc. Lemme give you some background.......
I was interested in ESO for it's 3 faction endgame war, something I had been missing in MMOs ever since DAoC. I thought GW2 might be it but the problem was, since every server had all the same classes/races/combos, discerning your opponent easily across the battlefiled was impossible and just became a zerg of red names. The one thing about DAoC was, if you saw a certain race and their clothing/weapon, you knew in general what to expect and was often important to know if I was attacking a Mid or Hib (yes, I was an Alb) Mythic managed to bring that over to WAR which was awesome BUT, all the other PvP aspects (including only a 2 sided war) failed miserably. I am still very sad about WAR, it had SOOOOO much potential.
With ESO, you might not have unique classes BUT the races and their armor are unique. I would like to at least know which faction is approaching but with everyone having Imperials, that will once again become impossible. It also defeats the idea of what I thought the Devs were originally going for.........three UNIQUE sides.
They should really have just given all races the "imperial seal" if you bought the upgraded package which would have allowed say a special ability and the ability to make Imperial armor (yes, this makes the "human" races look the same but things like Lizards and Cats, etc would have been still easily distinguished)
2) TURN UP THE FREAKIN' MASTER VOLUME! I currently have to have my speaker volume cranked all the way up, system sound at 100% AND ESO master volume to 100 JUST to hear half the NPCs (especially the Prophet)
The sound max needs to be doubled so I can turn all of my settings down and don't have my first sound after quitting ESO make me jump out of my chair!
3) There needs to be a clear option to go to the starter areas if desired. I had a lot of fun in the starter areas before and it wasn't until I was lvl 6 that I stumbled on the boat to take me there but by then it was too late.
4) What the heck is with ALL mobs having 1 gold on them???! And even after that, everything sells for crap pricing. I can't afford to buy or craft more than 1-2 items equal to my level or close so the loot rate needs to increase (at least early on). I'm not talking about insane increases but would 4-5g be out of the question? Im also all for immersion so its fine if non-humanoid types don't have gold on them. Just have looted/scavanged items sell for enough to keep at least half my items at level would be nice.
5) There needs to be some tutorial about soul gems and how they are used. It was a learning curve for me and admit in one area I was still unable to locate an NPC that sold emptys.
6) No minimap? Fine, but labeling ALL of the buildings (once you enter them) in a village/city or allow me to put notes on my map is a necessity.
7) While I know this won't change, I find it silly that enchanting components are aftifically strewn about the countryside in little stone structures. Other resource gathering feels much more natural. Would have made more sense to say scribe them on the side of trees or rocks to be dug out.
They are also super hard to come by when 500 people are scavanging for them. The replacement rate for resources needs to be increased, at least for launch.
