PvP: Horrible

Post » Mon Mar 17, 2014 4:20 am

PvP Armor / Weapons that are heavily expensive and randomly created out of sacks, how intuitive /irony. This does not create a feeling of wanting to work for it.

The map is empty and it takes ages to travel. Even with speed buffs and mount.

The artdesign of Cyrodiil is in most cases very generic. It looks dull, empty and grey.

Temporarily there are so many bugs, dismounts, getting detected in sneak from a mile away - while using magelight myself, seeing no one around and not going back into sneak-mode again. Yes might be temporarily.

While being in a raid you can get into combat while there is no combat visibly around. Leaving you with decreased stam/magicka regen for quite a period. No mount ups, easily getting catched by enemy players.

NPCs shooting through walls, known as "dmg out of nowhere".

The reward system aside the ladder and the emperor is rather meager. No real interest in ganking, killing aside the zerg. No point in doing so when you get 'points' while moving with the zerg. Would need to be balanced for smaller group play or solo ganking. All aspects must be met.

No real use for a horse. Horse feels clunky but that also applies to PvE. But you notice it more often in PvP because you are relying on fast travel and fast reactions. Cant do that with ESO horses they are barely responsively designed.

The whole design of the ranking system feels it has no impact on the scenary. You are not getting tougher in any form, you do not stand out towards other players. Neither visually nor actually with resilience. Why PvP?

I could go on and on.

You know in Cyrodiil there are shrines to teleport from place to place right? You can usually get at most 1 keep away from action and on horse it doesn't take long to get to the next one.

The dismounts have nothing to do with pvp, that happens everywhere and hopefully something they get resolved before launch. Though if you don't sprint seems like it doesn't happen when I've paid attention to it at least.

Don't quite understand your horse complaint towards the end. I had no issues with it (other than the dismounting) and seemed to move fine.

Your magelight was not invisible, just you. The person that killed you was probably laughing while he was watching the glowing orb float around you, giving away your spot.

(I think same applies for pets..as I watched someone go invisible, except their monkey today. Yes, I killed him).

What? Which campaing are you in? Wabbajack?

Map design is perfect. Walking mindlessly indeed takes hours, thats why you can travel between keeps. And makes more sense to have big map when going to an keep thats under attack.

I got to pour burning pitch on a raid......BONUS!

Were you really getting invisible damage? Or were you just not looking up at the vents as I poured oil down upon you?

The horse was annoying....everywhere.

My complaint was invisible keep walls/doors/etc....I write it off to lag and a reload usually fixed it.

Did I mention I was eaten alive by slaughterfish? That was also exciting...short lived.....but exciting!!!

Best Wishes!

Pretty much disagree with every word.

I love every aspect of the game's PvP, except for the bugs, which they're in the process of working out. This still isn't the live build.

But I guess that's why opinions are opinions. :)

The only real problem they need to address is the latency. The other stuff is small and will be fixed soon enough. Its fairly standered for a huge pvp zone in beta be this way. You play many of them in beta? I have. This isn't the best or the worst in my experience. If the company wants to keep its player base they will resolve these things fast, if not they will go the ways of AoC without the really fun open pvp worlds/servers.

Though I don't know why we're responding to his thread. He's started numerous threads in the past few days doing nothing but bashing things with the game :)
