I hate mixing and matching armor and weapons. The swirlies on steel plate doesn't quite match that of regular steel (nordic). Is it related to ancient nord weaponry/armor?

Steel plate gauntlets and boots.

Ancient Nord has similar swirls, but you're better off using the Steel Plate boots and gauntlets, as said above me.

I'd say Nordic carved may fit the best. It may not fit the swirls for which you refer to but I think the fur, that can be found on some of the Nordic carved weapons, would look great with it.

Ancient nordic weapons (what the draugrs use) or Nord Hero works with SP armor.

Completely forgot about Nordic Carved, it can do until you can craft Dragonbone.

I personally think Dawnbreaker looks great with it. Dawnbreaker or Nord Hero.

The swirls are like Atmoran / ancient Nord art as seen in ancient tombs etc.

I think the ebony armor also has it on
