What enchantments are best for a mage?

Defence, magic enhancement, fortify attack?

Well.... If you want to keep it game balanced:
Fortify magicka regen
Reduce [magic school] cost (Max 65%)
Fortify magicka/health
Fortify Alchemy

That's all a mage needs.

EDIT: Add absorb magicka and soul trap for a dagger.
