» Tue Mar 18, 2014 9:27 am I have scoured forums for someone having this exact same problem, but was only able to find one person on the nexus who had the same problem (and as usual no one helped over there) so I thought I would present it here, hopefully briefly.
I am on a fairly new character, Nord, (after over 2000 Elder Scrolls game hours I figured it was time to try out that race) and I cannot for the life of me get the Companions questline to trigger. I've never done it with any other character because I never felt that it fit in to any of their personalities.
From some previous convo, I have "Speak with the leader of the Companions in Jorvaskr about joining" however, when I get to Kodlak Whitemane, there is no dialogue option for doing anything.
Things I have tried:
1 Saving game in new save slot, reloading, talking to him again
2. Clicking on Kodlak, disabling him, then enabling him, then talking to him again
3. Advancing the quest manually through the console to "take up arms", it activates the take up arms quest, however, when I go to Vilkas, he also has no dialogue for me to advance it any further.
4. Stealing [censored] from Kodlaks room. Not sure why I thought this would do anything, but to be fair he was really cool about it, just asked me to put it back and said we were still bros.
Kind of a bummer that I can't do the quest now that I have a character who I think would want to do it. Anyway, I posted this here because I figured maybe it would be a mod issue. I haven't had a single other problem so far in about 10 hours worth of gameplay. Heres a list of my stuff:
