What's new in MW modding scene since I've been gone?

Post » Wed Mar 19, 2014 3:45 pm

Hi Modders!

I released a little mod back in June 2012 after working my bottom off for 6 months, and then decided to take some time off from Morrowind to work on other projects. So, I've been out of the scene for almost two years! I'm getting a brand new windows machine soon, so I'll be able to experience Morrowind at full power - I can't wait! So..... What's new? I'd love to catch up and I'm sure some truly awesome stuff has been released! Thanks!

Hey there, Dana! Long time no see. I hope your other projects were a success. :D

Well, TR made a big alpha release recently. We're still waiting on the official Almalexia release though.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1481668-rel-uviriths-legacy-32/ got a big update to 3.0!

Lots and lots and lots of little mods here and there. (search [Rel] and [Relz] on these forums)

OpenMW is making lots of progress! They're at version 0.29 now (1.0 will be the full game).

http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42933/? is a new quest/landmass mod you might be interested in.

I'm working towards a Spring beta release for Lyithdonea.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1494048-relz-morrowind-comes-alive-v80/ got updated to 8.0!

Lots of other things, but I'll let some other people post.

edit: Oh, I almost forgot. We've got some new http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1472612-wipz-morrowind-heads-update-project-thread3/. I highly recommend checking them out.

edit2: And I just remembered http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42509/? which I think is worth mentioning as well.

Hm a lot really. I think MD mentioned most of the larger projects, but there's a lot of smaller ones too that are worth taking a look at. I suggest you check Morrowind Nexus :)

That reminds me that I've released 7 new versions of Morrowind Rebirth since your last appearance. Time flies :P

Hey Dana ! Long time and all that . Melchie pretty well covered whats new except OpenMW is getting a good head of steam going and the way they are chuntering along it is conceivable that we will be playing with a great , updated engine some tome soonish ( wishful thinking ? Maybe but they are getting the save system sorted and that's what was preventing me from having a look see )

You know what this thread just made me think of? It'd be pretty awesome if we all got together and did a "Year in Review: 2014" thread in January or something of the next year, every year. A list of mod releases, updates, project news, etc. could be included. It could probably get pretty extensive... but maybe there could be an Executive Summary. Or maybe it'd be better to do a quarterly review. :D

It would be a great place to direct people who wanted to see what was being done in the Morrowind Modding world . A great resource all round actually . Good notion Melchior !
