Why didn't they make an Area-51 DLC?

It's so obvious. When I first got this game I was practically expecting one. I mean it would be an awesome setting for a DLC and what not. I'm just surprised that they didn't make one.

They specifically said they didn't want to because it was "too cliche."

Also, after the uproar that was Mothership Zeta, Area 51 probably isn't a grand idea.

Well ask yourself this: do you like Old World Blues?

I think if they did Area 51, OWB would've been replaced, and I think I definitely prefer OWB to another Area 51 story.

Another reason is that Chris Avellone hates the idea of aliens in Fallout.

I think that OWB was an Homage to Area 51. A secret area set apart from everyone where they worked on advanced weaponry.
