I've been looking, for quite a short period of time, for a way to merge Fallout NV with Fallout 3. I missed Fallout 3's feel on the Radioactive, post-Apocalyptic wasteland world; the whole game had a longer-lasting effect on me than Fallout New Vegas had. (which was that it should have been DLC for Fallout 3, for multiple reasons!)
After reading Fallout: Equestria on a particularly slow day, I started to get the urge to go and play Bethesda's first contribution to the Fallout series. But I knew that its features would be heavily outdated compared to that of Fallout New Vegas, with its handy ammo benches, to its faction reputations system. I was stuck in the middle of a Mind-crisis: I couldn't decide on which one to play again, and it was driving me to insanity!
I thought to myself, 'maybe just finding a mod would help.' but, I looked at both Requiem for the Capital Wasteland, which seemed to be outdated and buggy, and to Tale of Two wastelands, which the installation was incredibly confusing for me. I should mention that I have already looked at 2 YouTube videos on TTW's installation process, as well as a PDF instruction booklet. The videos that showed what to do had zoomed past the steps, and the PDF gave me the things I already knew, but could not figure out how to accomplish.
And then, I got very, very lost on what to do.
I have an HP laptop, using a 64-bit version of Windows 7. I have both games legally purchased, as well as all the DLC for both. I also have the Installer in my downloads area, as well a a separate folder in my documents section for its files.
After a frustrating half-hour trying to figure it out on my own, I decided to go on Bethesda's forums and ask here. I'm hoping that someone can point me to a clear, step-by-step-no-skipping-no-shortcuts installation of TTW, or to a mod that puts all the wonderful things from Fallout NV, like the Mods, Ammo Types, maybe even a way to implement it's DLCs, INTO Fallout 3. Either one would e very appreciated.
Thanks,
