I'm trying to figure out what tattoo to get and I want to know the reasons why you got yours and what it is??

I have one.

Things I considered:

Location. I didn't want to have to take off my clothes if I wanted to show it to someone. I also didn't want to be in a crowd somewhere and know that if someone was looking for me and asked I would be pointed out as 'the guy over there with the tattoo'. So I chose the inside of my forearm. I can show it to anyone I want with at most a rolling up of a sleeve, but if I'm standing with my hands hanging at my sides it's pretty hard to spot from a distance.

I grew up in the desert and was in the navy about as far from deserts as possible. I'm not big on astrology but I am a scorpio. I have great respect for scorpions (the arachnid, not the astrologically defined group) and they are a good symbol of the desert. So that's what I got.

EDIT:

One more thing...consider the 'absurdity of two'. A single tattoo is unique. once the 'unique' factor is removed there's no real difference between two, or three, or four. If you look around I think you'll notice there are people with no tattoos, people with one tattoo, and people with lot's of tattoos, but very few people with two and no plans for more. I know myself pretty well, and if I had gotten a second one on any of the numerous occasions that I considered it I'd be pretty well covered by now.

Might I suggest to never get a womans name or your favorite sports team.....at least visible to the public.
