F3 Designers You Are Incompentent!

Post » Fri May 07, 2010 2:56 am

I just spent $20, when I'm extremely strapped for cash, to get Broken Steel and Point Lookout, but before I did, I decided to take my sixty hour character throughout the parts of the Wasteland I didn't see before completing the main quest. I've spent hours upon hours just exploring the Wasteland, covering much of the North West side of the map. My most recent stop was in Vault 92, I assume some of you know where this is headed.

Because I'm so into roleplaying, I closed the door on my way in to be badass, spent a long time scrounging through every item and saving over my auto and regular saves while inside and when it was time to leave I find there is no way out. You can close the door, walk inside, but there is no way to open it again, a fact the designers of Vault 92 seemed to have overlooked. My only other save is way back at the Project Impurity Quest, before I spent ten hours exploring.

THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I'M RESTARTING THE GAME. I don't even know where to find things like the Victory Rifle again, since the Abandoned Shack isn't even noted on the map.

I'm using the PS3 version, no commands can save me here.

I don't care what it takes, as long as I get my character back into the Wasteland with his equipment.

You can't get out again. The Sniper Shack is located west of Rockbreaker's Last Gas.

Indeed, this is a fairly well known glitch. I guess it makes sense in-universe, and is a better end to your character than the official end, imo!

Are PS3 save file digitally signed? You might be able to edit it to get yourself into somewhere else you can fast travel from.

I believe the only vault that can't be reopened is vault 106. There has to be a door activator somewhere near it. Clicking on the door won't open it. You need something like the activator in vault 101 when you escaped. Keep looking. heres a link to a thread with the same problem you have http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/fallout3/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-47594737&pid=939933 Goodluck :)

OK, calling people 'incompetent' is flaming, so I'm going to lock this one up.

If you'd like to rephrase your problem and post in Cheats, Hints & Spoilers, something along the lines of "Stuck In Vault 92", I'm sure some of the other members will offer advice.

NB, It is NEVER a good idea to only have one current save.

:edit: Ah, the answer to your problem is in the thread DopeSickKid linked to above.
