I think I would have sprang for staff time to 'log in' on Vamp NPC characters and infect people now and again.

No pattern, no stock quest. Put enough infection out in the character populace and wait.

I have to admit, I think the same thing every time I use the word vamp. And infection. Giggles.

The first rule of keeping anything a secret would be to not discuss it on a forum. So this is another troll and as with all MMOs the Vampire and Werewolf forms will be posted all over. (They are already posted if you know where to look.)

SWG did it with Jedi, before SOE nuked the game. But what happened is that those powerful, permadeath Jedi (and they were quite powerful) ended up hiding in their houses all the time, too afraid to even step outside because a horde of bounty hunters would squash them like a gnat. No one is more powerful than a zerg. No one.

This is not how you go about doing that, though.

I'll definitely be playing a vampire (a drain tank Nightblade, or a stealthy dps...). I would absolutely love if there where some 'Clan' guilds for vampires. I'd join one, and keep the Masquerade!

And yes, if someone gets it, please hand out Embraces! I'd love to have Vampirism as early as possible.

That would be an awesome Guild ('Clan') to create. I'm sure someone will make Vampire / Werewolf exclusive guilds. I'll reserve a name now, the 'Meating Room'.

I have no desire to be either but the way they've implemented sounds really cool.

A secret is something that is only known only by one person. As soon as you tell anyone else, it is no longer secret.
