Where does it crash exactly? As much detail as you can? Do you get to the Dragon symbol and the main menu where you can start a new game? Or is it shortly after you click Play on the launcher?

Error message?

Post a DXDIAG. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1122570-how-to-dxdiag/

Use spoiler tags. Just type them out like you would a text message. The forum interpreter will translate them. They look like this: DXDIAG <===== Replace < > (angle brackets) with [ ] (square brackets)

Just copy and paste the dxdiag between the spoiler tags as shown. This allows us to show and hide the info from the dxdiag.

Im assuming you arent using any mods. Did you just buy the game? Ultimate edition? Do you play any other games? WHat are they?

You're most likely going to have to get into some technical [censored] if you want to fix the issue. Skyrim is not exactly an "install and play" game. None of Bethesda's titles are, really. They're too huge and too complex.

Can you be a little more specific about what's happening? Where precisely does it crash? Have you added any mods? Did you run the game from the launcher? What are your computer specs? Etc.

You should learn about them then. PCs are not consoles or smart phones, and not knowing anything about them means it's only a matter of time before you download something or change a setting that completely screws your machine up.

Before anyone can help you, we need to know your system specs (see http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1122570-how-to-dxdiag/ on how to run and post a Dxdiag report on this thread), whether or not you're using any mods (if you are, posting a load order would be helpful too), as well as more information on what exactly the problem is.

Also, don't throw your hands up in frustration and walk away! It's actually not that difficult to sort issues with Skyrim out. It might seem all technically overwhelming to edit an .ini file or something like that, but it's not really that complicated. Just looks a little scary the first time, is all. The game is well worth the effort.

I am able to click on the options at the start, where the dragon symbol is, and when I do, it gets to where the tips are and crashes after the third on.

I have All 3 dlcs and have many mods. i got the game early this year. Of course i play other games, but none of them are made by Bethesda.

I know. Only on the last topic I posted, everyone was like "WHAT GRAPHICS CARD DO YOU HAVE?" and "USE BOSS ITS USEFUL" I mean, BOSS just makes me download more things so it even LONGER to fix.... all I had to do really on my other problem was remove one mod and there, done.

Based on everything above, I believe your crash is easily fixed. New computer, latest version of the game, massive load order, and a crash at the loading screen.

My bet is on a simple mod conflict.

Now, steel yourself, because here's your first step:

Download and use BOSS. It's NOT complicated or difficult. You download it, install it anywhere, start it, then click "Run BOSS". That's it. It will anolyze and sort all of your mods, generating a new load order, giving details for each mod:

1.) Green -- mod is all set and in the proper load order.

2.) Yellow -- BOSS doesn't recognize the mod.

3.) Red -- The mod conflicts with another one. BOSS will even tell you which one(s) it conflicts with and which specific assets within the mods conflict.

It's literally three clicks. The results are separated and displayed through your web browser, so you can view whichever category you want. Using BOSS is vital, especially if you have more than a handful of mods.

Possible causes for your crash:

1.) Load Order. Mods must be loaded in the proper order, or critical information will not be loaded correctly by the game. It's like telling the computer: "Find the lock. Turn the key. Insert the key." -- Huh??? Crash.

2.) Incompatible Mods. Not all mods are able to be used together. If BOSS flags mods as conflicting, you'll have to read up on the actual mods, download the correct compatibility versions, or simply deactivate them if you don't want to be bothered.

3.) Improperly Installed Mods. You should also be using NMM or another mod manager to install and sort your mods. If you've tried extracting the files yourself, it's very possible that you've put files in the wrong place. This means critical resources used by the mod cannot be found, and the game cannot load.

Now, hear me, honored dude or dudette: If you want to fix the issue and enjoy Skyrim (which you really, really do, by the way) you have to swallow the angst and get into a little technical [censored]. There is probably no "quick-fix" for your issue. Use NMM and BOSS. Be prepared to read the whole, entire descriptions of conflicting mods, if BOSS finds any. In the worst-case scenario, be prepared to completely uninstall and re-install the game.

This is just the nature of modding. Alternatively, just deactivate all non-official mods, use the official DLC and the Unofficial Patches, and enjoy the game in vanilla form. (This may still require a re-install!)

Just tried to use BOSS to find which mods were conflicting, didn't work. I use NMM to install most my mods, besides the ones I get on the Steam workshop. I'm pretty sure I've installed all mods correctly, Load order is correct (I hope). BOSS Didn't recognize half my mods and said it needs this TESedit thingy.

This is why I don't use BOSS.

Okay, just browsing through the list quickly, I noticed that there is a load issue with Caliente Vanilla Armor. Any mod requiring another must be loaded after the parent mod. In this case, after CBBE. You also have multiple mods that seem to alter character "meshes" -- their 3D models. You'll need to ensure each is compatible with all of the others. Any of these conflicts can cause a crash at start up.

Secondly, you're running several mods that BOSS has identified as obsolete. You'll need to ensure the mod was made for the latest version of Skyrim (1.9.xxx). This can cause a crash at start up. Sadly, many great mods become obsolete with new versions of Skyrim, but their authors never update them. You'll have to remove any of those, or do your homework and ensure they're still okay to use with the latest version. If in doubt, don't use them.

There are several mods that contain dirty edits, as well. Usually, quality mods are "cleaned" before they're uploaded. If two mods alter the same cell in certain ways, this can cause a crash at start up. Again, it'll take homework to figure it out, or you can just disable them.

Be sure you're not using various mods that all affect the same things. For example, if two mods alter the same armor, they will probably not be compatible. This can cause a crash at start up. Once again, more homework to find compatibility patches for each one or disable all but your favorite one.

Take your time and read through the results of BOSS. It's not a panacea for every issue, but it does a great job at identifying problems.

Here's my honest reaction:

That's a massive list of mods for someone brand new to the game. There are sooo many issues that can arise. Modding any Bethesda title is not simply a matter of choosing everything you like and clicking "Play".

I would completely delete and re-install the game. Get rid of everything. When you install again, take it slow. Start with the basic mods. Read about each one completely before you install it. Read about compatibility issues. If the author of the mod does not include a detailed description or update it regularly, it's best not to use it until you're more familiar with how mods work.

Lastly, whenever you uninstall a mod, be ready to begin a new game. Once Skyrim saves a game using certain mods, you are not always able to remove the mod and load the game. Most, you can. Some create irreversible problems if removed. Be careful!

Here's a list of mods that I highly recommend to get started. None of them drastically alter the vanilla version of the game, and they're pretty compatible with most other mods. (I see you have some already, but this is a cut-and-paste list I have handy!) You can find all of them on the Skyrim Nexus:

The Unofficial Skyrim Patch (plus the Unofficial Patches for Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn, and Hi-Res Textures)

-Essential!!! Fixes up big, medium, minor, and tiny bugs throughout the whole game. Thousands of fixes.

SkyUI

-A user interface made for PC's.

Climates of Tamriel

Best weather mod out there, in my opinion. Very realistic weather, darker nights, keeps the vanilla feel.

Realistic Water Two

-Magnificent overhaul of all water while looking very true to vanilla.

Enhanced Lights and FX (or Realistic Lighting Overhaul [or both!])

-I prefer ELFX, but there's a lot of good to say about RLO. They are 100% compatible via specific .esp's made by the authors.

Timing is Everything

-Allows you to set more logical conditions for when certain quests begin. (Like, making Dragonborn begin after the main quest is complete...which only makes perfect sense...)

Guard Dialogue Overhaul

-Adds back in immersive conversations with guards all over the world. In vanilla, they simply say the same things ad nauseum.)

Silence is Golden

-No more listening to lame NPC greetings over, and over, and over, and over... Now, NPC's only speak to you when you speak to them.)

Convenient Horses

-Most complete horse mod, in my opinion. Adds everything you could need, including Horses for followers.)

Clothing and Clutter Fixes

-Absolutely essential if playing as a mage. Overhauls the way robes and hoods work, adds needed variety, logical clothing for children, visible jewelry, etc.)

Splash of Rain

-Raindrop splatters on the ground during rain. Why...was this not in the original game...?

Same Walk and Run Speeds ("Lite" version)

-PC players using keyboard and mouse have only three movement speeds: walk, run, and sprint. NPC's would use walk, fast-walk, jog, run, and sprint. Made for annoying issues following or being followed by NPC's. No need for this if you have use a gamepad.

Footprints (plus the Dragonborn addon)

-Everything leaves footprints in the snow. Again, not sure why this wasn't in the original.

Run for Your Lives

-If an NPC isn't a warrior or a guard, they'll choose to run for cover instead of taking on a dragon with their fists.

When Vampires Attack

-Same as above, but for vampire attacks.

Enhanced Blood Textures

-Excellent blood mod and 100% stable. Many of the others have the dreaded "cloaking" issue.

Your laptop only has integrated Intel graphics, according to your Dxdiag. Do you have an application named Nvidia Control Panel, or one named Catalyst Control Center, installed on your computer (it will be one or the other)? If you do, then your laptop has a separate graphics card that's meant to be used when playing games or doing other graphics intensive operations, but it's not being recognized or switched over to when playing Skyrim. That's likely at least one source of your problem - Intel graphics are not meant for gaming, especially not with so many mods, including HD texture packs, installed.

You have the Climates of Tamriel .esp file active in your load order, but I don't see the .esm file for the mod anywhere. That will cause a crash every time you try to start a game.

WRT to mods that BOSS does not recognize, you have to sort them into the proper order yourself.

First, what you need to do is resolve the issue with your machine's graphics. Find out if it has a discrete graphics card, and use Nvidia Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center to set up a custom profile for Skyrim that forces the game to use the Nvidia or AMD card if one of these is present. You may have to reinstall your graphics drivers to get this to work.

Second, disable all of your mods except for the official DLC, and try to start a brand new game with a brand new character. If you still get crashes, reinstall the game. When you uninstall, make sure you remove the Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files in your My Documents\My Games\Skyrim folder before reinstalling, so the game generates new default .ini files.

Once you have a stable, well running vanilla installation, play through the Helgen tutorial sequence and make a hard save right outside Helgen. Slowly add mods back into the game, no more than a couple at a time. Each time you add mods, run BOSS to sort them, and then play test your installation for a while to make sure it's still stable and playable. If your computer turns out not to have a discrete graphics card, you will need to avoid using using any kind of high definition texture replacers, ENBs or other mods that add to the graphics load of the game. Indeed, if this is the case you should probably consider yourself lucky that the game runs at all.

Yes, all of this will be a PITA and will require you to get familiar with some technical "crap", but that's the price you pay when you play on a PC with mods.

I'm on a roll, so let me see if I can explain how Skyrim works simply:

Imagine the world of Skyrim as a series of rectangular shaped cubes standing on end. These are called "cells". Each cell has a plain of "ground", which is then warped and shaped to create hills and mountains and what-not. Each interior location is usually one cell. The outdoor locations are big cells all next to each other. Obviously, you can't see the borders, but you do see them load in the game -- when distant landscape changes to include more detail.

Each cell is then filled with "entities" (trees, rocks, animals, NPC's, houses, weapons, etc.)

Mods change either cells, entities, or both. Let's say, for example, a mod changes the color of wolves' fur. Then, I use another mod that also changes the wolves' fur. Only the changes from the mod loaded last will take effect. Both can't work together, because both change the same thing. But if I have three mods that alter wolves, I could wind up with a serious issue:

1.) The first mod changes the color of the fur.

2.) The second mod changes the actual 3D model of the wolf, making it look more life-like.

3.) The third mod changes the color of the fur again, but it wants to alter the original model, not the altered model.

The computer doesn't know what to do, and it crashes when it tries to load the data on wolves. The same can happen if a mod alters, adds, or removes things from cells. Simplistically speaking, you can't use two mods that both change the same thing in the same cell.

That's all it really takes to break the game. That's why it's critical to understand what a mod does before using it, and to be sure the load order is correct to get the changes you want.

Do you get a crash without mod's on a new character ??? (after disabling your mod's)

Have you tried previous saves ???

---------

I just wonder how good works skyrim with so many mod's on a intel HD 3000 ????

----------

Can you look at this file: Skyrimprefs.ini - under [Display] this paragraph: sD3DDevice= ????

or even at your skyrim-> options screen what Graphics card do you using ???

----------

Another worground is to download this utility: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2340/techpowerup-gpu-z-v0-7-7/mirrors

http://tpucdn.com/gpuz/screen1.gif |-----------> Bottom left is a pull down menu. (you can check if you have another Graphics card beside the Intel HD 3000)

You have so many mod load order issues and incompatibilities that your game can only crash, follow the advice of others above. Make sure BOSS says no further conflicts or dirty edits or unrecognized mods. Once you have done this you will begin to experience a non-crashy game.

ASK yourself if you really need those gazillion mods. Get rid of most of them unless they are 'must have' mods.

If you do not do any of this then you WILL continue to CTD and there is NOTHING what we can do to help you.
