I'm tempted to make a merged patch with FNVEdit

I'm tempted to just make a merged patch with FNVEdit because I can't get Wrye Flash working. A merged patch would be almost as good, right? Just more biased toward changes made by what's further down on the list of mods, for me it's a short list.

My problem with Wrye Flash was this, from the log:

Found Python at 'C:\Python27\python.exe' Launching Wrye Bash in debug mode Traceback (most recent call last): File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 32, in bash.main() File "C:\Playthings\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Mopy\bash\bash.py", line 293, in main import bosh File "C:\Playthings\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Mopy\bash\bosh.py", line 84, in import balt File "C:\Playthings\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Mopy\bash\balt.py", line 41, in import wx File "C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\wx-2.8-msw-unicode\wx\__init__.py", line 45, in from wx._core import * File "C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\wx-2.8-msw-unicode\wx\_core.py", line 4, in import _core_ImportError: DLL load failed: %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
Tried python, wxpython, and pywin32 with both 32 bit version and 64 bit version.

Wrye Flash for New Vegas is a port of Wrye Bash for FO3 which is a port for Wrye Bash for Oblivion/Skyrim. I don't remember exactly what I did to get it installed, but the process is easier if you just install Wrye Bash for Oblivion or Skyrim, then drop the Moby directory for Wrye Flash into the New Vegas directory and use that.

This might help you with the install

Now, Wrye Flash is easier for me to use, FNVEdit has a steeper learning curve, but they both do the same things in the end with regards to the leveled lists etc. However, the Flash patch will let you put some nice tweaks into the game that FNVEdit won't.

Here is a guide on how to make the Merged Patch with FNVEdit, if you go that route

Thanks, but I've made merged patches several times to get a select few things from some mods and remove a few things. It's just that, it seems to me, bashed patches can isolate specific edits and I can choose to use them or not but a merged patch, well, doesn't have the seemingly as controllable selection of what I want to include, unless I were to know everything about merged patches. I discovered that Wrye Flash will work for me in debug mode, even though the normal mode won't even start. But I will try your method just to see if it works. And uh, I should test to see if my Wrye Bash is still working for Oblivion, since I installed those Python 2.7, Pywin32, and wxpython. Thanks again for your help. I was just wondering if merged patches could be implicitly equal or better than bashed patches.
