Maybe Achievments (Steam) ? After gfwl is shut down ?

Post » Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:39 pm

Hey there,

so i am wondering what will happen after gfwl is shut down ?

Will bethesda integrate the achievements of gfwl in steam or sth? I would really like to see that, i am playing through the game right now, and i think if thats the case i will stop playing and wait for the day.

Thanks for reading.

I would not stop playing a game to wait for this to happen. And, to note, the only thing that is shut down is the GFWL Store, the client service is still active.

There are no details on the migration, or when it will occur. Since the GFWL Client is still available from Microsoft, and retail disk based folks can still activate the game with the GFWL client, and can download the DLCs that they may have purchased back when they were sold separately on GFWL, Bethesda has no announced plans for what they are going to do. Microsoft is good about announcing things ahead of time regarding any other changes they may make to GFWL that would causes issues installing the game or activating it or acquiring content that was purchased through GFWL.

Of course, you could take advantage of one of the Steam Sales where the GOTY Version of FO3 is sold through Steam for $7.99 to $9.99 and solve this issue for less than the cost of a lunch.

first of all, wow! This Forum is more active than i thought.

@Pseron Wyrd: gfwl -> Games for Windows Live

The sth. was just a frase of mine ~ sorry for that.

@CCNA:

Good to hear that, so i will play Fallout 3 to the end.
Bioshock 2 and Batman AA got Steam achievements / fixed the Steam achievments with the removal of gfwl, so i was thinking about that for Fallout 3.

And yes, i own the Steam version of this game and put 17 hours into that game... ( i found around 70% of all places; only Mainquest and 3 DLC's left)

Thanks guys, and have a nice weekend :)
