Character creation question.

Hey all, just over a week away for early access and I am wondering, are we going to have to rush through character creation in order to secure our names ?

thanks,

You can have hyphens and spaces in your name so I would say no. Just give yourself a last name.

My guess is yes, but didnt they say the names are tied to our account name? Which means it could be something similar to Mantiss@Mantiss, which means you could be free with names... Im curious..

In beta it was a rush to get the name(s) you wanted.

The only players that really have to worry about "securing" their character names are those who can't (or don't bother to) come up with something original and choose to use the names of popular characters from fiction. So if you really want a variation on Legolas, Drizzt, Sephiroth, Daenerys, etc. - yes, you will have to rush through character creation.

I didn't get into the stress tests until a month ago and I was still able to create six characters with lore-appropriate names and none of them were rejected.

Ditto. Just get creative. Add a surname, descriptor, or title. Plagius Redthorn. Anita of the Bow. Likes-His-Fishsticks. Names are more interesting that way anyway and add some unique flavor to your characters.

I played with the character creation enough to know what I want and it's not really that in depth so it's not going to take me long at all. No one wants the name I am going to take anyways, I don't like naming my characters Bill Murray, Gandalf, Obama etc, anyways. I'm confident that the name I want is going to be safe.

I would be more concerned about reserving a guild name.
