Which class will you play as Healer NOW?

That could be a bug. The tooltips for the staff passives are careful to point out the restriction of "while Resto staff is equipped", but they do not limit the effect to heals generated by the staff. Seems like this is either a bug or a misleading tooltip.

At the same time though, you have a highly magicka dependent class being the only one without an active regen skill. The nerf may have been justified if other options for magicka regeneration were given, but just slashing the only method to regen magicka in the class line without providing alternate means isn't a great idea.

Templar.

I don't have the healing issue in the PTS and therefore don't need the faith.

Templar, simply because I love direct heals, and really dislike HoT...

..And resto is all about HoT and absorb shields

Ithril, is the effect of the Restoring Spirit nerf being overly exaggerated? You're the first PTS player I've heard from with the opinion you've expressed.

So many templars so few dks!! I will play a resto dk! Bring it on! By the time, I be lvl 50, I hope they have more healing skills! Like they said the ama yesterday!

First, I wanted to go with the templar, I played a holy pala in wow raiding and arena.

But when I tried the dk, woohh all that fire, thats really my thing! Its time for me to leave the old school holy healing and try something new!
Maybe a nord dk or a dumner vampire dk!

If you don't make a Templar, you will surely regret it if that's the thing you wanted to make, because they WILL change it. Re-thinking the class you like for such nerfs is silly, trust me on this.

I don't think it's silly for someone who wants to heal to you consider the consensus of VR players that they can't heal endgame content, when that is what they want to do. I agree that it will probably change and that's where I'm betting, but I think it's more risky to ignore reality and bet on future enlightenment.

I was running both staff and resto line, couple of hots for trash/ beginning of boss fights, then switching to direct heals mixed with hots while the fight raged, and using backlash on the boss
