Any 1handshield experience in beta?

Was looking to go with a shield/1hand, and mainly be a strong tank/support for goup pvp in cyrodiil. Does anybody have any experience with using shield/1hand in ESO beta mainly for pvp? Please tell me of your experience! I was originally going to go 2 handed dps/self heals, but i think i may go shield/1hand, /self heals/support/tank now that i find myself enjoying the major group pvp and what i can possibly bring to the table as a dragon knight, not only for me but my group.

One of my guildies did that in the beta and said he love the dragonknight sword and board combo. Thats what he will be at launch

I have used a shield in pvp, generally, not only is it not worth it because there are a bunch of players(though in a one on one its useful), also melee weapons in general are not very good for pvp, and I found my dunmer was using his secondary staff loadout(I have a roleplay reason for a warrior to use a staff) more than he imagined versus the other factions.

EDIT: but in pve it is REALLY good, shield has saved me on a few occasions, it also serves as another possible resource buff as it may have an enchantment that boosts health/stam/ magicka, or maybe resistances.

Hehe, in a brand new MMO coming out there will be a ton of every class, that's how it always goes, and that's the beauty of it, no one sided class in the beginning. And i was a 2 handed dk in beta, and i did quite well in pvp, so i don't know where your coming from, because you had more protection than me with the shield.

The S&B combo is pretty strong right now, especially for a dragon knight in PvP.

I played Dragonknight sword and shield in the previous beta. Played both PvP and PvE(mostly PvP though) I had no trouble getting kills in PvP yet also died a fair few times as i was always at the front whilst most of the players i encountered were using bows from afar.

Had a lot of 1on1 encounters which i enjoyed greatly. Had no trouble in PvE at all, The beta before last i played Templar, was convinced that would be my class until i tried DK S&B. So my experiences so far have been good.
