Heresy !!!!! I want a mod that draws dotted lines on the map on where to go get them! But atlas, i'll probably need to wait 3-6 months for that, so I guess a old school manual map will have to do.
or better, a mod that makes a huge sign that says SKYSHARD on it floating above a shard that is visible anywhere in the zone!
Why don't you just let people use maps if they want instead of telling them how the should enjoy the game they paid for?
because it is unfair to those who are not willing to cheat to get by(which trust me cheating is not necessary in any game unless the devs make it specifically so)? Because then they are basically just letting the game play out for them, losing all exploration value and instead following a stupid pointless guide?
It's not cheating. If you want to find skyshards on your own then you can, if others want to use a map they can. It's not a direct competition.
I guess you don't use road maps when trying to get somewhere you've never been, right? "that driver at the side of the road checking his road map is cheating!"
These are the ones I used during beta. Seemed good enough for me.
roads are a little different than skyshards....
and maybe cheating was a bit of a strong word. but still, we were given tips to find them by the game, I don't see why you cant use those and find it for yourself.
Because some people would prefer something more direct. Not everyone gets the same enjoyment out of searching every nook and cranny for skyshards, some may even consider it stressful. If they find it more fun to just use a map so they can move on to a part of the game they do find enjoyable then who are you to tell them they shouldn't?
I guess I have no right to tell them they shouldn't, but personally I would rather search for myself( maybe its my playstyle, but anyway its not like they are hard to spot), but if they want to, why not I suppose.
In Skyrim etc I used mods to make the game harder, improve AI, disable compass, disable fast travel, have primary needs, freeze to death, increase spawns, slower leveling etc and more utterly masochistic stuff.
In ESO I will use add-ons to have all the skyshard and lorebook locations on my map, markers to tell me where quests are, cast bars and buff icons etc.
Why do you think will I do that?
"Riddle": I think I will do that for the same reason people want to push others not to consult maps or use combat add-ons.
