Your not including the people who wont spend a single dime in a F2P game and expect more content to be payed for by others. Those are the main pushers for games to go F2P.

Those are an extreme minority and the ones that say they'll never spend any money in cash shops start out that way, but then they eventually cave and spend. I've seen it happen a dozen times atleast. Sure there are some that never spend, but a majority do to stay competitive.

I don't think these people really exist. Not if they actually play the game they're championing to be F2P.

Yea seriously. Even the people that claim they don't spend a single dime I'd be willing to bet they do at some point in their F2P game of choice. They just don't admit it.

You can't rely on them giving you accurate information from a neutral perspective.

Totally agree with ya there. I was just pointing out those extreme minority usually are the most vocal where forums are concerned.

caught one of their streams this weekend and the dude was all "the game has a lot of missed opportunities like this" because he one time didn't find a chest down a hallway... I switched channels.

and why are you discreetly raising the subject of the sub fee once again on these forums? who cares what they do or dont do thats their problem the standard price for a pay to play mmo is 14.99 if you dont like it then DONT PAY IT but please stop already with the moaning and groaning about the 15 dollar a month fee its so old news that none of us wanna hear about it anymore

we dont care if ppl want the game to be free 2 play so they can get something for nothing if you want something for nothing go play any of the 10000 IP's out there that are free 2 play there are plenty of them. in this game you gotta pay 14.99 a month deal with it.

it is not a review, it was a slap in the face of ESO.

honestly it isnt a slap of nothing its a darn cheap arsed gamer trying to get something for nothing just let it go already

How was that a slap in the face? The guy asked if you will spend a lot of money on ESO or will you still stick to skyrim until tes6. If the game is good, you don't have to worry one bit. Even critics can't deny a good game.

I've noticed a decline in journalism/reporting everywhere since the popularity of the internet. Not that there wasn't unbiased reporting before the internet, but for whatever reason even supposed "reputable" news sites are turning increasingly more into opinion blog posts.

Following from as many sources as possible the 5 examples i gave, gives one a good solid view on a upcoming game. Your comments on em are your opinions pretty much, and can be left as such.

But the main point is, hand off marketing is happening all the time, and the links i gave proves without a doubt that those sites cannot be trusted. The only alternatives left is a wide array of gamers or people who make previews and reviews and do them well.

We the gamers, check them thru, and form an opinion, and in my experience those 5 examples gives the best picture on a game = together.

One source for information is never enuff.

I pay £40 pm to go climbing about 6-8 times a month for 2-3 hours... like I'm going to grumble about paying £9 for something I'll be playing at least 10 hours a week.

I'd much rather pay a sub for my first MMO than have it be like some spammy FB game or mobile app where it's always 'spend £x for some credits to buy the shinies you need to compete'.

Ask me again in 6 months and I may have changed my mind as this is new for me...

I'm actually glad ESO is subscription based, just have to look at the state of GW2 to see buy the game and play for free model doesn't really work.

Should be, "I listen only to Game Informer."

In this case, the word only is a qualifier. In your original sentence, your statement asserted you did nothing else but listen to Game Informer, meaning you don't eat, sleep, or do anything else.

I will GLADLY pay my $15/month to keep this game going and the subscription is less than the price of going to the movie theatre + buying popcorn ONE TIME for maybe two hours of entertainment versus an MMO subscription that provides unfettered access to 24/7 entertainment, as much as I can consume.

So to the nay sayers, I say GOOD DAY. TESO will be here when you change your stance.
