SHEEPLE! - Media Outlets & Uberguilds Flock to AD

Post » Tue Mar 25, 2014 7:00 am

I prefer being the underdog. What's likely to be the faction that will perform the poorest in PvP (or will be perceived as such) and the least populous? That's the one I'll join. Fewer 1337 kids, friendlier environment.

From the main website, AMA questions:

How do you intend to solve real-time population imbalances in campaigns where large numbers of players to decide not to participate in PvP or go inactive? Is there an account lock on campaigns? The possibility of a large guild flooding their campaign with idle alt-accounts for opposing alliances is a real issue that will need to be addressed. Have you looked into scaling Alliance Point accumulation relative to class? I'm worried that only a few classes are going to dominate the Emperor position due to inherent class advantages over others. – thebusfromspeed

We are going to be adding population bonuses for scoring benefits into campaigns for underpopulated alliances over time. Currently we have scoring imbalance benefits that persuade the two losing alliances to gang up on the winning alliance, but again, population imbalance bonuses are going to be added....

EP all the way...and, by the way, I played in Axe last beta. Daggers controlled everything most of the weekend, and the AD had a hard time making sweet rolls. The Pact made a few runs, though.

I feel all this is Anti- AD propaganda made up by lowly DC scoundrels to trick people into thinking DC is the least represented faction and gain the sympathy vote. Do not fall for this trickery ! Join AD today!

It's an MMO, the faction with elves/pretty peeps will always be VASTLY overpopulated compared to any other faction, and it has been this way since MMOs have had playable elves. The factions in WoW only became "balanced" when blood elves were thrown into the mix, and at that point faction pops became irrelevant with cross server BGs and Arena. If you have an issue with this you can do what other peeps have said and simply not pick the campaigns with massive imbalances, it's what I've learned to do in every MMO with large faction PvP, avoid the super highly populated servers because "highly populated" usually means "vastly imbalanced".

For my OP, in no way am I calling all AD Sheeple (the ones who chose it for the quests, the races, the lore, etc.) Are not sheeple at all. They are doing what they had their heart set on. There are now 2 Media Guilds (Popular websites dedicated to ESO w/ Guilds) that have put up polls saying "lets choose our alliance". The poll comes back as DC or EP and the powers that be say - Nah we would rather do AD, can be getting shown up by the other Media guilds out there, if you can't beat em join em!

ESO Off the Record is the one that most recently did that, and it cheesed me off so I made this post lol.

Bah, let em play AD, I mean, look at the advantages:

  • No need to make female characters, they all look like women
  • They continue to stress out about their beloved 'Queen'
  • They have large numbers to cover for making RP characters instead of efficient ones
  • And more!

Just sayin' :D

*cough* d3 is just half a d6... or 1/4 of a d12... works same way as what was posted.

I prefer to think of myself as an open-minded individual prepared to perform services for whichever groups salary, er, goals are the most 'noble'... (too bad this isn't an option in the game, though)

You will probably love it. I dedicated one of my beta weekends entirely to Morrowind, and it is simply breathtaking. It is currently my favorite area of the game.

I'm still going to the AD, but I can't wait for 50+ content. I will spend a long time in Morrowind.

I have seen this in so many games with factions, most of the big guilds will give out false info to where they are going and they actually research what guilds are going where. I wouldn't put much faith in polls or what guilds said they are going where until launch (or EA) They do it all the time to try and throw their competing guild off. honestly if looking at the beta campaigns i really would not want to be in AD (sadly i will be though) i dont remember a campaign that AD wasn't getting their butts handed to them.
