Hello! Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to try and help me with this problem.

I have an archer on Skyrim who i've been working very hard on and have recently noticed that I cannot use the left hand/block ability. Because this happened some time around when i received Auriels bow i assumed that it was something to do with the bow and continued, but recently have discovered that on this character:

• I cannot use block with ANY weapon.
• When using block the cross-hair simply turns red.
• Nothing can be used in the left hand.
• Reassigning the key to a different button does not work.
• Earlier saves DO work and so do other characters.
• I have tried re-installing the game.
• I have tried removing and re-adding the eagle eye perk in the console.

So my thoughts are that it is a problem with the save game and my searches across google have thrown up nothing helpful, pleaaaaaaaase please if there is anything you think i can do let me know and i will give it a shot. I don't want to go back all the way i've come to a working save game unless i have to.
