Is it correct that chatting in-game will show up as your account username instead of your Character's name?

I have been trying to read up on the game mechanics since the beta weekend, I don't know that much about this game. I have played MMOs before, but don't think I ever came across a chatting channel that didn't show my character name. I'm pretty sure in beta it did show my player character name?

It seemed like a big deal to try and secure your desired character name. So I must be missing something.

It's Character name.

I am sure I heard something shows up as account name... ? Maybe friends list?

At one point, the account name was shown in guild chat and guild member list, but I did not test that during the most recent beta, to confirm if it still worked that way.

At that time, other chat channels all used character name, and not the account name (at least the channels that I used).

when you talk in the chat channels it allways shows your (character name)

when you talk in your guild or 1 of your 5 guilds chat channel it will only show your @account name

zone chat and common chat allways show your character name
