Good Mods

Post » Fri May 07, 2010 5:58 pm

Alright, I just downloaded the GOTY for my comp, which amazingly is able to run the game on High! Hooray!

However, I've played Fallout 3 on my 360 before, so I was just wondering. What are your suggestions for some REALLY good mods that help to overall improve my post-apocalyptic experience.

I'm looking for some good Overhaul mods, good armor mods, weapon mods, and perhaps a few other ones that help immersion and whatnot.

Also, how to install them :hehe: I DO have Winzip, but I don't think I really need it for installing mods do I?

EDIT; http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=972878. also, I use Jzip, or something like that, however, most of my mods i have I installed with fomm instaed.

All mods should contain at least two files, given that a readme is basically essential, so they will pretty much all be available as an archive of some sort. I recommend you check out http://www.7-zip.org/download.html when it comes to unzipping mods.

On top of the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1063937&hl=Darnified, the http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9654 and http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11257 for that deep in feeling, or a lot of information. You can remove everything, or everything but the cross-hair, and have information on your health, or add new stuff like a clock, speedometer, and other detailed information, and a mini-map.

I'm having a problem with the Classic Fallout Weapons mod. The guns aren't showing up when I equip them and when I do there are big red exclamation marks that show up around my character.

I'm pretty sure that's a missing mesh.

Yeah, you installed the mods incorrectly. Mind explaining exactly what you did so we can help correct it?

Well. I downloaded the mod which was then put in Winzip. I found the ESP (Or something like that) file, and extracted it into my Documents file, then used the package manager to activate it.

There were a bunch of other files in the winzip folder, so I think I don't have all the meshes and whatnot installed.

You have to copy (or install, whatever) the "meshes" and "textures" folders to your "Data" folder too, the mod is depending on it.

The Project
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11203
===============
Description:
===============

As the Lone Wanderer, you stumble across a bunker under siege by Talon Company. Inside, you discover that Talon Company has targeted The Project for elimination. The Project, a consortium of ruthless tech hoarders, possesses many secrets within their bases across the wasteland. Hunt down the Project's leaders and make your way to Camp David, their center of operations. Eliminate them as they have eliminated so many innocent lives in their pursuit of advanced technology.

===============
Details:
===============

Adds a new quest to the game for the player to follow. Also adds a new technologically advanced faction, called The Project.
New maps to explore and an entirely new world space called Frederick County, which is situated north of DC. A G36c, M16A1, M249, MP5A4, MP5SD5, SVD Dragunov, and a M41A pulse rifle have been added to the game. A few unique weapons of my own creation have been added as well. To start the quest, simply enter the Springvale Bunker Entrance. Bring a LOT of stimpacks so you don't die!

I'm about 12 hours into this mod and have just reached Camp David. One of the best quest mods I've played. It's as good or better than most of the
DLC in length and gameplay.
