Question for you Americans

Post » Thu Mar 27, 2014 3:05 am

So I'm an Aussie but I'm coming to the USA in a couple of months while my bands on tour.

I'll have my laptop with me with ESO install so I can play as we travel, so the question is:

Is there any internet wireless service you guys have with a sizable download limit?

Last time I had a Verizon one which had pretty good speed but only a 10 gig limit :(

Also, I don't have a social security number..... cuz I'm not from the States haha...

I'm not particularly proud of this, but when I first went to america (and somewhat when I left just a few days ago) I went to my library to steal their broadband for free for large downloads. They have blazing speed in urban areas.

I still use a VPN though, make sure to turn that off when you go there

That's what our libraries are for. Giving people access to the internet through tax dollars. Aren't Americans nice?

We give our money to almost everyone but ourselves, because the government doesn't think we know how to spend it.

Enjoy...

Id advise against mobile.

Speeds are decent til you hit data cap. I have no data cap but after 500 mb I get throttled.

Leech off a library or fast food joint. ESO shouldnt eat much bandwidth.

Internet cafe, most resturants, and coffee shops depending on where you are. Of course you could see if you have any fans at the show waiting for eso. They'll be happy to share some internet.

Their coffee is kinda drinkable, if they insist that you buy something.

Won't librarians shove you off from the place in leeching off their resources?

I have a friend that used to work there, says that nobody knows how to clean the café machine. The management is blank at most locations, and so are the employees. He said they're so horribly dirty that the coffee runs through a horrific 5 inch layer of "liquid crap."

So I'm a little wary.

I mean, if somebody is monitoring the network and your computer is named the S.S. DATAPIRATE maybe.

The library is publicly funded though, I've never had an issue. I've even asked the librarians for help.
