Some Features Needed for ESO. Bethesda Please Read

Post » Thu Mar 27, 2014 8:29 am

I'm posting this thread in hopes that some of these features are added into the gameplay if they do not already exist.

-Bring back the killing blow cam that was in skyrim. Create some finishing moves that can be obtained through an achievement system. It'd be nice if other players could see your finishing move while in combat. However, I'd keep it central to PVE play since it may be too obtrusive during an intense PVP match (Although I'm sure this could be overcome in one way or another). This is a feature that I think would separate ESO from other MMOs.

-Implement seasons and day/night gameplay. This may already exist, but I didn't witness it during beta.

-Create compass icons for points of interest such as professions so we aren't forced to look at our map to get direction.

-Capes... I know this isn't something that is being considered, but I still think it is a feature that's been missing from Elder Scrolls.

-Created a aura or something to differentiate between players and NPCs

-Make the players bulkier. They seem too slender in comparison to the characters in Skyrim.

Any additional input would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to hear your opinions or any features you feel should be added.

- Killing blows wouldn't be good in PVP because of the time the animation takes, and if you're fighting multiple people you'd have to wait for that animation to finish before killing someone else.

- ZOS already said they weren't putting in cloaks/capes.

Is bethesda involved with the developing? I think NOT...

But I ve an interview, bethesda defending the 15$ and promising quality content... Bethesda NOT zenimax... So I hope they read and do...

In my personal experience, in other mmos, devs never read and listen the suggestion forums. But when it comes into interviews, these devs always say : We listen to u... (yeah right).

The only point I agree with here is a system that would help differentiate players from NPCs. I had to turn on the health bars for NPCs as a temporary solution, which did help but wasn't very aesthetically pleasing.

I would like to see the killing blow cam happen for PvE. I had so much fun slitting throats in Skyrim, that animation was so rewarding. It would put me behind the mob even if I walked right up to them.

The problem with introducing a fancy cam feature into an mmo is that, unlike in a single player environment, the game won't be paused while you enjoy the moment. If you engaged several foes and the cinematic triggers early in the fight, your character will continue to be pelted with pain and death while you watch the video. You won't feel as much of a badass coming back to a dead character. :(

hmm I swear that happened in Skyrim too though. Oh wait, that was when I transformed into a werewolf or vampire. Things keep smacking you during that sequence. I didn't get the cam too often when I wasn't being sneaky, mostly because the majority of my kills were dagger/sneak kills.

Killing blow cam would not work. I don't want to be stuck watching an animation while things continue to happen around me; I definitely don't want to have to watch a slo-mo animation because someone in my group/general vicinity killed a trash mob!

ESO has day and night, and night's pretty dark - how did you not notice?

I second that motion. It would keep me from opening the darn map every 10 seconds. That or a mini-map. I'm actually hoping for a mini-map.

btw, I was able to make a mildly chubby character for this game. I didn't feel the models were too thin. There's a rather large variance. I'm not saying you get to play legitimately fat characters (or I would) but there's even a gut size.

Kill cams not likely and really likely to cause more issues than it's worth.

Day and night are in. Season would be good but I'm not holding my breath.

Do you mean nodes on the compass? God no. The fact that you have to go out and explore and find them is refreshing.

Capes/cloaks are just one more thing to cause clipping issues.

The fact that you can't tell an NPC from a PC without stopping to look at them for a brief second is likely intentional to aid in immersion when there's a bunch of people standing around.

There's a lot of sliders in the game but I'm not sure to what extent you can make someone bulkier nor do I know the parameters for such are based on race.

Account created yesterday actually lol but very intuitive of you to bother checking ;)

On another note, I think the signs would be a nice feature as well.

I think the kill cam won't be terrible for other players if it is seen from a 3rd person perspective. For players witnessing it, it would appear to simply look like combat with a finishing move.

Anybody think of something else that should be added or removed for that matter? lol.

Worked fine in AOC, they just made your player immune for the duration of the animation, almost as a reward for being so badass as you ripped that players heart out of their chest and ate it.

"REPLY" button for in-game mail, all through the beta weekends I was searching, searching, for this simple function.
