VR gear in character creation screen

Post » Fri Mar 28, 2014 9:50 am

I am curious what level of VR gear is reflected in the character creation screens or do they all look the same? Secondly if i like the looks of of say Dark elf VR armor , would it be possible to change the look of my bosmer gear to dunmer?

If I understand you correctly, you are asking if a bosmer can wear dunmer armor, and the answer is yes. that is what racial motifs do for crafting armor. They allow you to create the other races' armors, which anyone can wear.

Yes you will. At end game I will be wearing a mix of different races.

My question isnt regarding crafted armor but dropped armor. For example at end game, i get a VR 1-3 armor that drops for me , will it have its own individual look? Or will its looks depend on my race? Or will the looks of it be randomized?

Regardless of level, gear you get from drops has a random style. I believe that gear from vendors has a racial style that reflects the vendor, but I'm not sure about that.

Don't think VR gear works any differently from any other gear in this regard. But I don't know that for a fact

Don't go by the character creation screen, btw. That is misleading in several respects; for instance, it suggests there's such a thing as class gear, when there isn't.

THanks for the response, I love the bosmer veteran medium armor look in the character creation screen for example. Any idea if that reflects the look of crafted or dropped gear?

According to a vid showing off the imperial race, they (the imperials) can 'morph' any gear into their own style at any rank, IDK if anyone can do this with their own origin race style?
But that way you can always ensure that you have a coherent armorstyle (which should compliment your chosen race).

That is an imperial only bonus. other races can not do that. even if you have the imperial edition and are not playing imperial, you cant do that. but the other races can change to imperial style, regardless of race.

yes, you can only morph into imperial gear BUT any race can morph armor/weapons, but only to the imperial style.

Not true. Any race you roll if you bought the Imperial Edition can morph gear into the Imperial style. My Orc on the PTS was able to morph its gear to Imperial Style.

EDIT: or nevermind lol, Not sure what you are actually saying I guess.

Oh right, can Morph into Imperial style, not Morph into any race style.

Changing the style. You can change the style of any armor (except the ones that you get as quest rewards) to Imperial IF you have the Imperial Edition.

You can't change the style to other racial styles though. A shame, really. I hope that eventually they will let us change the style to any racial style.
