No PVPPVE sets?

Post » Fri Mar 28, 2014 6:32 am

That's not a stat... That's probably a specific trait or something. These: http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Stats are the stats that ESO has.

Fair enough. Doesn't change the fact that it's PvP specific though.

So outside of leveling my profession, where can I get great sets? Quests? Nothing at all in dungeons? Nothing at all.... really? :(

Where can you buy great sets by the way?

The trait is PVP specific, not the gear itself.

I'm glad there are no separate PvP armours because it really makes no sense.

Having PvE and PvP armour puts casual PvPers at a disadvantage (especially if it's a system like WoW).

As far as I know this game is about the skill of the player, not what piece of armour they are wearing.

Not sure what you mean, and I'm not trying to be a jerk about it here, but the armor has the PvP specific trait/stat/bonus. You buy it with AP and take less damage from players. Obviously if you're into PvP you're gonna wanna get that armor.

Humm didn't see that honestly, all the vendor had was sealed random urns- was there a separate vendor?

there have been seperate vendors selling armors and weapons directly but the prices were horrendous. 10-15x the price of the same lvl urn.

As a PTS tester I can only assume that gear isn't all that useful or needed as I honestly haven't heard a thing about this till now. I don't PvP much if at all but I'm on the PTS forums all the time and this has literally never been mentioned at all.

Besides it pretty much goes against their whole stance of not having PvP specific, stats/items/gear. Maybe it was just in as a test or placeholder, who knows but i just have a hard time believing it will be available at launch.

Well, here's to hoping that you're right. IIRC it was only a 5% reduction, but for a PvP min/max'er it will still pretty much be mandatory.

But, like I said, I hope you're right.

There are a couple of set bonuses on gear that have pvp only stats on them that can be purchased with alliance points in Cyrodiil. One is 5% reduced damage from players and another is reduced damage from siege engines and player-cast aoe abilities.

Whether you think they're worth using over other set bonuses is up to you.

-No, both armor and weapons are rewards

-No: the best gear is in fact dropped, but can be further enhanced via crafters

-No

I saw it on a video from a PTS'er. It's true. I can't remember where, it was a good month or so ago. But 100% true.

Okay, we're asking around on the PTS forums for confirmation of this. If they do exist, it goes directly against this:

I would also ask that people not flip out because we're looking for a source. You can't really expect us to believe claims on the good faith of a poster we don't know from Adam.

Hmmm, I like the idea of %dmg reduction from players or siege engines on armor that's only purchasable by PVPing. That strikes a nice balance in my mind. Then again, it would be pretty awesome of crafters could learn that as a trait to put on player-made armor.

I cannot for the life of me find the video. It was a video displaying vendors in Cyrodiil, where I was able to pause it while the poster was mousing over different pieces of armor that the vendors sold. There was certainly one set that offered a percentage of damage mitigation vs other players. I'm not making it up, and I wish I could find the video, but it's your choice to believe it or not.
