Added monsters stand still (no move, no anim), help needed

Post » Fri Mar 28, 2014 11:35 am

Hello all,

I'm quite new to skyrim modding and i've recently started going through several tutorials.

I unfortunately got stuck into something weird:

I've built a small dungeon, pretty nice, with clutter and leveled containers, a trap, a useless wandering NPC. And i finally wanted to put some agressive encounters in it.

No problem with a necromancer or a bandit (from leveled list), they patrol smoothly and attack on sight, just as expected

But i tried with monsters (Draugr and falmers), from leveled list or not ...

When i watch them in game, they just stand still, frozen, no idle animation, no patrol, and no fight back when i attack them . They simply fall dead on the floor, giving their loot.

This is very anoying.

I hope it is due to a noob mistake or something evident i've missed.

Does anyone can help ?

Thanks a lot,

Cheers,

What happens when you use the console command

tai

in-game after clicking on the creatures? tai is for Toggle AI.

i'll try that, thanks for your reply.

But is there any reason for creature not to load with their AI on ?

If the problem is with their ai! When you say "do not move" do they just stay on the spot but taking positions, turning on themselves, etc?

Please, report your other thread so that it's locked. :)

well i didn't say much to them...

i've placed them in a cell, put a couple of linked ref to set a patrol and that's it.

In game they simply don't move at all. They stay in place, frozen.

they are marked as hostile, and i have the fight sounds (they growl when the detect me and when they are wounded)

but not a single move.

As said before, i did exactly the same with NPCs and all was fine...

i did (carefully and manually).

NPC's are patrolling just fine (in the same room and in the others).

I think a navmesh issue would cause some glitches in their itinerary, or maybe prevent them from walking, but they're not moving at all, not even an idle anim.

It looks like an ai problem. What kind of monsters are you using? What happens if you replace them by other monsters, not made from a template or a levelled list?
